AMD har satt mycket press på Intel med sin Ryzen 3000-familj. De har dessutom lyckats göra många saker rätt samtidigt som den vitaliserade konkurrensen på marknaden för desktop-processorer bör låta som ljuv musik för kunderna. Men äger man en Intel-plattform idag behöver man inte vara orolig, för Core i9-9900K är fortfarande ett bättre val för spel än Ryzen 9 3900X. Om du i huvudsak använder din PC till spel är Intel det bättre valet.
De stadiga förbättringarna har gett utdelning och AMD har förbättrat den enkelkärniga prestandan på sina desktop-processorer markant. Ryzen 9 3900X når nästan samma höjder som Core i9-9900K när det kommer till enkelkärniga uppgifter och tar hem priset när det kommer till flerkärnigt arbete. Core i9-9900K är dock fortfarande experten när det kommer till spel.
Men vi rekommenderar att du överväger Ryzen 9 3900X om du är en streamer eller skapar saker på datorn, för processorn står verkligen ut när det kommer till flerkärnigt arbete. Dessutom lyckas den på något sätt ha jämförelsevis låg energiförbrukning för ett chip med 12 kärnor. AMD lyckas också nästan helt eliminera den skillnad i enkelkärnig prestanda som fanns mellan Intels processorer och Ryzen 2000-serien då Ryzen 9 3900X kommer väldigt nära Core i9-9900K. För tillfället drar spel inte någon nytta av fler än 8 kärnor, men det kan komma att ändras i framtiden vilket skulle sätta Ryzen 9 3900X i ett bra läge.
Ryzen 9 3900X kostar runt 5.900 kronor även om den för tillfället är svår att få tag på. Således kan processorn tänkas hamna ett steg närmare Core i9-9900K när den släpps, men priserna bör sjunka efterhand vilket skulle göra Ryzen 9 3900X mer prisvärd än Intels aktuella flaggskeppsprocessorer.
En viss bitter eftersmak kvarstår på grund av att det bara är X570-moderkort som kan dra nytta av PCIe 4.0. X470- och B450-moderkort kommer dock att ha stöd för de nya Matisse-processorerna efter en BIOS-uppdatering. Till viss del är till och med de äldre X370- och B350-korten kompatibla, vilket är trevligt. Men vi rekommenderar ändå att du i förväg kollar så ditt moderkort har stöd för ett Ryzen 3000-chip innan du köper.
I slutändan bör PCIe 4.0-restriktionerna inte vara avgörande för de flesta användare då PCIe 4.0 för tillfället inte ger någon större fördel i spel jämfört med PCIe 3.0 trots högre bandbredd.
Sammanfattningsvis är Ryzen 9 3900X den bästa desktop-processorn för konsumenter som finns på markanden just nu tack vare sin utmärkta flerkärniga prestanda. Core i9-9900K har en fördel jämfört med AMD:s 12-kärniga Zen 2-chip, men vi rekommenderar bara att välja den förstnämnda om du vill maximera FPS. Annars, välj Ryzen då den totalt sett erbjuder en bättre helhetsupplevelse än Core i9.
