AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS är en snabb high-end processor för bärbara datorer i Phoenix-serien. Den erbjuder 8 kärnor (octa core) baserade på Zen 4-arkitekturen som stöder hyperthreading (16 trådar). Kärnorna klockar från 3,8 (bas) upp till 5,1 GHz (single core boost). Processorn har 8 MB L2-cache och 16 MB L3-cache.
Prestanda
Den genomsnittliga 7840HS i vår databas är i samma liga som Core i7-12850HX och även Ryzen 9 7940HS när det gäller multi-thread benchmark-resultat. Detta är ett mycket snabbt chip, från och med Q3 2023.
Din upplevelse kan variera beroende på hur höga effektgränserna för processorn är och hur kompetent kylningslösningen för ditt system är.
Chipet har en modern och snabb RDNA 3 grafikadapter (iGPU) som heter Radeon 780M med 12 CU:er och upp till 2,7 GHz klockhastighet. Phoenix-serien innehåller dessutom en videomotor med AV1 de- och encoding, en ny Xilinx FPGA-baserad XDNA AI-accelerator (Ryzen AI) som ska vara snabbare än AI-motorn i Apple M2 SOC och en dubbelkanalig DDR5-5600 / LPDDR5x-7500 minneskontroller (med ECC-stöd). Anslutningsfunktionerna inkluderar 2 möjliga USB 4-portar (40 Gbps) och 20 PCIe 4.0-banor för en GPU och SSD-enheter.
Phoenix-serien använder en enda monolitisk design (till skillnad från chiplet-designen i 7045HX-serien) och tillverkas i den moderna 4nm-processen hos TSMC. TDP kan konfigureras mellan 35 och 45 watt.
