Google Tensor G3

Tensor G3 markerar den tredje generationen av Googles egna chipset för smartphones och surfplattor baserade på Android. Denna SoC används för första gången i Pixel 8 och Pixel 8 Pro och Google ser SoC som en avancerad enhet.

Processorn i Tensor G3 består av tre kluster. Den första har en enda kraftfull Cortex-X3-kärna som kan arbeta med upp till 2,91 GHz, den andra har fyra prestandakärnor (Cortex-A715) med upp till 2,37 GHz och det tredje klustret har fyra effektivitetskärnor (Cortex-A510) med upp till 1,7 GHz. Klockfrekvenserna är därför inte särskilt höga, så den rena CPU-prestandan ligger mer på nivån för en SoC i övre mellanklassen.

En ARM Mali-G715 används som grafikenhet. Google är tyst om det exakta antalet kärnor, men riktmärkena och avsaknaden av ray tracing tyder på en version med sju kärnor (G715MP7).

Kärnan i Tensor SoC: erna är Tensor Processing Unit (TPU), som ansvarar för AI- och ML-uppgifter. Även här är Google skyldig allmänheten mer exakt information och talar bara om det faktum att 150 gånger mer komplexa AI-modeller kan beräknas på enheten.

Dessutom integrerar Google sitt isolerade säkerhetskärnundersystem, som återigen använder Titan M2-co-processorn och ger ytterligare skydd för sina egna data på hårdvarubasis. G5300i-modemet är baserat på Exynos 5300 och stöder Wi-Fi 7.

Tensor G3 tillverkas i den nuvarande 4nm-processen hos Samsung.
