Intel i5-1240P

Intel Core i5-1240P är en SoC av Alder Lake-P-familjen i mellanklass som är utformad för att användas i ultralätta, ultratunna bärbara datorer. Den tillkännagavs i början av 2022 och har 4 prestandakärnor jämfört med de 6 kärnorna i toppmodellen i7-1280P (P-kärnor, Golden Cove-arkitektur) som är parade med 8 effektiva kärnor (E-kärnor, Gracemont-arkitektur). I5:s P-kärnor är Hyper-Threading-aktiverade för totalt 16 trådar när de kombineras med E-kärnorna. Klockfrekvenserna varierar från 1,7 GHz till 4,4 GHz i prestandaklustret och 1,2 GHz till 3,3 GHz i det effektiva klustret. Bristerna med den här processorn jämfört med Core i5-1250P är bland annat den något lägre klockfrekvensen för iGPU:n och den begränsade vPro-funktionen ("Essentials"-nivån endast, utan möjlighet till fjärrhantering).

Arkitektur

En E-kärna ska vara lika snabb som en Skylake-kärna (som bland annat finns i Core i7-6700HQ), sex år gammal vid det här laget. Alla Core i5-1240P:s CPU-kärnor har tillgång till 12 MB L3-cache. Den integrerade minneskontrollern stöder olika minnestyper upp till LPDDR5-5200, DDR5-4800, LPDDR4x-4267 eller DDR4-3200. Intel rekommenderar att man inte använder mer än 64 GB RAM-minne. Liksom de andra Alder Lake-processorerna har denna Core i5 Thread Director som är en ny funktionalitet som är utformad för att hjälpa Windows 11 att avgöra vilka kärnor som ska användas för vilka arbetsbelastningar för bästa möjliga prestanda och effektivitet. Hårdvaruacceleration av AI-algoritmer stöds via GNA 3.0 och DL Boost (via AVX2). Stödet för PCI-Express 5.0 har inte funnit sin väg in i Alder Lake-processorer för bärbara datorer, så användarna får nöja sig med PCI-Express 4.0 för tillfället.

Observera att detta inte är en processor som kan bytas ut av användaren. Den blir permanent lödd på moderkortet (FCBGA1744 sockelgränssnitt).

Prestanda

Vi förväntar oss att de 12 CPU-kärnorna kommer att överträffa de flesta av de utgående 28 W fyrkärniga Tiger Lake-delarna (som Core i5-1145G7) samtidigt som de slår många 6-kärniga och 8-kärniga AMD Ryzen 4000- och Ryzen 5000-alternativ för bärbara datorer som körs med klockfrekvenser som liknar vad en 1240P kan erbjuda. Hållbarheten i prestandan är sannolikt knuten till hur höga effektgränserna och hur bra kylningslösningen i ett system är och därför kommer en 1240P-baserad bärbar dator sannolikt att släpa efter de flesta 12th Gen H-series Intel CPU:er. Ändå är det garanterat att prestandasiffrorna per tråd för den här CPU:n kommer att överträffa många 11th Gen Tiger Lake CPU:er tack vare de anmärkningsvärda arkitektoniska förbättringarna som Golden Cove-kärnorna medfört.

Grafik

Det inbyggda grafikkortet i form av 80 EU Iris Xe som körs på upp till 1,3 GHz har sett små förändringar jämfört med det som var inbyggt i vissa Tiger Lake-UP3-processorer, t.ex. i5-1135G7, vilket knappast är någon nackdel eftersom den här iGPU:n är fullmatad med moderna funktioner som AV1-videodekodningsförmåga och stöd för SUHD 4320p-skärmar. Xe är inte främmande för lite casual gaming; med det sagt kan din körning variera beroende på hur höga effektgränserna är och hur kapabel den bärbara datorns kylningslösning är. Förvänta dig något som ligger nära NVIDIAs MX350 eller med andra ord acceptabla framerates i de flesta spel när du spelar i 1080p/låga inställningar. Snabbt RAM-minne är en förutsättning för hyfsad prestanda eftersom Iris Xe måste nöja sig med inget dedikerat videominne.

Strömförbrukning

I5:s baseffekt (även känd som standard TDP-värde eller PL1) är 28 W. Turboeffekten (även känd som PL2) ligger på 64 W. Den här processorn tillverkas på Intels tredje generationens 10 nm-process som marknadsförs som Intel 7 för en OK energieffektivitet.
