AMD R7 4980U

AMD Ryzen 7 4980U är en processor för tunna och lätta bärbara datorer baserad på Renoir-arkitekturen. 4980U integrerar alla åtta kärnor baserade på Zen 2-mikroarkitekturen. De är klockade vid 2 (garanterad basklocka) till 4,4 GHz (Turbo) och har stöd för SMT/Hyperthreading (16 trådar). Chippet tillverkas på den moderna 7 nm TSMC-processen och delvis tack vare den annonserar AMD en 2x förbättrad prestanda per Watt för Renoir-chipen.

Det är det snabbaste Ryzen 4000U-chippet och erbjuder 200 MHz högre klockfrekvenser (både basklockan och Boost-klockan) än det äldre Ryzen 7 4800U. Den nya Zen 3-baserade Ryzen 7 5800U bör dock vara snabbare tack vare den nya arkitekturen.

Förutom de åtta CPU-kärnorna integrerar APU:n även ett integrerat grafikkort Radeon RX Vega 8 med 8 CU:er och upp till 1950 MHz. Minneskontrollen med dubbla kanaler stöder DDR4-3200 och energieffektiva LPDDR4-4266 RAM-minnen. Dessutom finns 8 MB nivå 3-cache på chipet. APU:ns TDP är specificerad till 15 Watt (standard) och kan konfigureras från 10 till 25 Watt av bärbar datorleverantören. Det innebär att chippet är avsett för tunna och lätta bärbara datorer (men med fläktar).
