AMD R5 4680U

AMD Ryzen 5 4680U är en processor för tunna och lätta bärbara datorer som bygger på Renoir-arkitekturen. 4680U integrerar sex kärnor baserade på Zen 2-mikroarkitekturen. De är klockade vid 2,1 (garanterad basklocka) till 4 GHz (Turbo) med stöd för SMT/Hyperthreading (12 trådar). Chippet tillverkas i den moderna 7 nm-processen hos TSMC och delvis tack vare den annonserar AMD en 2x förbättrad prestanda per Watt för Renoir-chipen. Jämfört med den äldre Ryzen 5 4600U verkar 4680U vara identisk.

Med två kärnor mindre är Ryzen 5 4600U klart långsammare än Ryzen 7 4980U i arbetsbelastningar med flera trådar. Den bör dock fortfarande slå den snabbaste 15 Watt Ice Lake Intel Core i7-1065G7 (4 kärnor, 3,9 GHz). Tack vare Boost-klockan på 4 GHz bör prestandan för en enda kärna vara likartad. Ryzen 5 4680U är därför en mycket snabb 15-watts-CPU och klart snabbare än den gamla Ryzen 7 3700U.

Förutom de sex CPU-kärnorna integrerar APU:n även ett integrerat grafikkort Radeon RX Vega 6 med 6 CU:er och upp till 1500 MHz? Minneskontrollen med dubbla kanaler stöder DDR4-3200 och energieffektiva LPDDR4-4266 RAM-minnen. Dessutom finns 8 MB nivå 3-cache på chipet. APU:ns TDP är specificerad till 15 Watt (standard) och kan konfigureras från 10 till 25 Watt av bärbar datorleverantören. Det innebär att chippet är avsett för tunna och lätta bärbara datorer (men med fläktar).
