Intel Core i5-1030NG7
Intel Core i5-1030NG7 är en energieffektiv fyrkärnig SoC för laptops och Ultrabooks som är baserad på Ice Lake-Y generationen och utannonserades i Maj 2019 (Computex). Den innehåller fyra Sunnycove-kärnor (8 trådar tack vare HyperThreading) med en klockfrekvens på 1.1 (bas) - 3.8 GHz (enkelkärnig Turbo). Alla fyra kärnorna kan ha en turbo-klockfrekvens på upp till 3.2 GHz genom Turbo Boost. Enligt Intel kan Sunnycove-kärnorna nå upp till 18% fler IPC:er (Instructions per Clock).
Jämfört med vanliga Core i5-1030G7, är i5-1030NG7 mindre (22 x 16.5 versus 26.5 x 18.5 mm), har en högre basklockfrekvens på 1100 istället för 800 MHz samt ett 1 Watt högre TDP-värde.
I kombination med de två extra kärnorna borde den äldre Y-serien med dualkärnade processorer (Amber Lake-Y) alltid vara långsammare. Den kortvariga spurtprestandan bör vara utmärkt, men längre belastning kommer bero på TDP-inställningar och datorns/surfplattans kyllösning.
Den största förbättringen i Ice Lake är det integrerade Gen 11-grafikkortet som heter Iris Plus Graphics. Core i5-1030NG7 innehåller den största G7-varianten med 64 CU:s och en klockfrekvens på 300 - 1050 MHz. Iris Plus G7 borde vara dubbelt så snabb som sin föregångare och slår AMD Vega 10 GPU:n som sitter i aktuella Ryzen APU:er. Men Y-seriens spelprestanda kommer återigen bero på kyllösningen och kan minska märkbart med tiden (jämfört med exempelvis Core i7-1065G7 på 15 - 25 Watt).
Andra förbättringar med Ice Lake är hårdvaruacceleration för AI och partiellt stöd för Thunderbolt och WiFi 6. Den inbyggda DDR4-minneskontrollenheten har stöd för moduler på upp till 3200 MHz (och LPDDR4 3733).
Core i5-1030NG7 produceras av Intel i den nya 10nm-processen (2:a generationen) som borde ge prestanda som är jämförbar med TSMC:s 7nm-process. TDP-värdet är specificerat till 10 Watt och processorn kan därför användas i tunna och lätta laptops. Intel erbjuder möjligheten för tillverkare att konfigurera ett TDP-värde på upp till 12 Watt, vilket resulterar i betydande prestandaskillnader (tack vare längre perioder av Turbo Boost).
