NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPU (kodnamn GN21-X9) är en high-end laptop GPU. Den är baserad på AD104-chippet som den stationära RTX 4070 Ti och använder Ada Lovelace-arkitekturen. AD104-chippet erbjuder maximalt 7.680 shaders (t.ex. RTX 4070 Ti Desktop) från vilken RTX 4080 Laptop använder 7.424 och en 192-bitars minnesbuss. RTX 4080-mobilen använder 12 GB GDDR6 dedikerat grafikminne med en klockhastighet på 16 eller 20 Gbps (effektivt). TGP (Total Graphics Power) kan konfigureras mellan 60 och 150 Watt (+ 25 Watt Dynamic Boost från CPU) vilket leder till olika prestandanivåer (den stationära RTX 4070 Ti använder 285 Watt för jämförelser). Boostklockhastigheten sträcker sig från 1350 MHz (vid 60 Watt TGP) upp till 2280 MHz (150W). Därför beror prestandan också mycket på den effektinställning som används för RTX 4080-mobilen i den bärbara datorn.
Den syntetiska prestandan hos RTX 4080 är klart över den mobila RTX 3080 Ti i våra tester och endast överträffad av mobilen RTX 4090. I faktiska spel såg vi att även krävande spel med Raytracing aktiverat (som F1 23) kunde spelas i QHD och maximala inställningar. Mindre krävande spel som Baldur's Gate 3 kan spelas flytande i 4k (se resultat nedan).
RTX 4080 erbjuder 232 tensorkärnor (4:e generationen) som möjliggör DLSS 3 inklusive ramgenerering för spel som stöds. Dessutom kan 58 raytracing-kärnor (4:e generationen) användas för raytracing-effekter i spel som stöds.
AD103-chippet är tillverkat i 5nm vid TSMC (4N-process).
