AMD Athlon 300U

AMD Athlon 300U är en mobil dualkärnad SoC på instegsnivå som utannonserades i Januari 2019. Den kombinerar två Zen-kärnor (med SMT / Hyperthreading, så totalt 4 trådar) med en klockfrekvens på 2.4 - 3.3 GHz med ett Radeon RX Vega 3 grafikkort med 3 CU:s (192 shaders) och en klockfrekvens på upp till 1000 MHz. Med ett angivet TDP-värde på 15 Watt är denna SoC tänkt för tunna mittenskiktslaptops. Den är ganska lik AMD Ryzen 3 3200U (2.6 - 3.5 GHz).

Jämfört med Picasso-chippen från Ryzen 3000-serien är Athlon 300U fortfarande baserad på 2000-seriens första generation. Det är bara PRO-varianten som är baserad på den nya mikroarkitekturen Zen+, vilket borde leda till 3% bättre IPS (prestanda per klockcykel).

Den inbyggda minneskontrollenheten har stöd för upp till DDR4-2400 minne. Eftersom Picasso-chippen har samma funktioner som Raven Ridge-föregångarna hänvisar vi till vår släppartikel om Raven Ridge.

Till skillnad från de snabbare fyrkärniga Picasso APU:erna har Athlon 300U bara stöd för totalt 3 skärmar istället för 4.

Prestandamässigt borde Athlon 300 vara en aning långsammare än en Ryzen 3 2200U (2.5 - 3.4 GHz Dual Core with SMT).
