AMD A10-4600M

AMD A10-4600M är en fyrkärnig mobil processor baserad på Trinity-arkitekturen. Den introducerades officiellt under andra kvartalet 2012 och är en direkt efterföljare till Llano A-serien med vad AMD kallar APU:er (Accelerated Processing Unit). Vid lanseringen var den snabbast av Trinityprocessorerna. Processordelen tillverkas i 32nm och har en klockfrekvens på 2,3 GHz (upp till 3,2 GHz med Turbo Core), plus en relativt snabb Radeon HD 7660G-GPU med minneskontroller i dual channel-läge, videokodare och -avkodare och en nordbrygga.

CPU-kärnorna bygger på en omarbetad version av Bulldozer-arkitekturen, även känd som Piledriver. Även om den marknadsförs som en "quad core"-processor, innehåller A10-4600M bara två moduler med fyra heltalskärnor och två flyttalskärnor totalt. Processorn är alltså ingen äkta fyrkärnig CPU.

Jämfört med tidigare Bulldozer-kärnor har AMD förbättrat IPC-prestandan (instruktioner per klockcykel) i Trinitykärnorna samtidigt som klockfrekvenserna höjts. Men jämfört med föregångaren Llano har den flertrådade prestandan i Trinity bara förbättrats marginellt. Den förbättrade Turbo Core 3.0-funktionen förbättrar enkeltrådig prestanda, även om det fortfarande inte är på samma nivå som Intels motsvarighet Turbo Boost motsvarande. Bortsett från det har AMD även inkluderat andra funktioner, som utökad AVX (inklusive FMA) och stöd för AES-kryptering.

Mätt i rå prestanda är A10-4600M mellan 0 och 25% snabbare än Llano-baserade A8-3520M. Enkeltrådiga jobb i synnerhet kan dra nytta av den nya arkitekturen och den uppdaterade Turbofunktionen. Jämfört med Intelprocessorer är en Sandy Bridge Core i3-2310M ungefär på samma nivå som A10-4600M, men resultaten kan ändå skilja sig mycket mellan olika prestandatester. Trots det bör CPU-prestandan i den här AMD-processorn vara tillräcklig för alla alldagliga sysslor som kontorsprogram, surf, och även enklare videoredigering och spel.

Den integrerade DirectX 11-kompatibla grafikkretsen Radeon HD 7660G använder alla 384 grafikkärnorna i Trinitykretsen och tack vare Turbo Core arbetar de i mellan 497 och 686 MHz, beroende på belastning. I genomsnitt är prestandan med HD 7660G jämförbar med en dedikerad Radeon HD 6650M och är även märkbart snabbare än HD Graphics 4000 från Intels Ivy Bridge-processorer.

Strömförbrukningen för A10-4600M APU uppskattas till 35 Watt TDP och är därför jämförbar med Ivy Bridge-processorerna i mellanklassen. Det gör A10-4600M bäst lämpad för bärbara datorer från 14 tum och uppåt.
