Intel Celeron J4115

Intel Celeron J4115 är en fyrkärnig SoC som främst är avsedd för billiga minidatorer och tillkännagavs i slutet av 2019. Den körs på 1,8-2,5 GHz (Single Core Burst) och är baserad på Gemini Lake-plattformen (uppdatering 2019). Jämfört med föregångaren erbjuder uppdateringen en något högre Boost-klocka. I likhet med Apollo Lake- föregångarna tillverkas chipet i en 14 nm-process med FinFETs men erbjuder något förbättrade processorkärnor, dubbelt så mycket L2-cache, ett mindre paket, en ny generation bildskärmsutgångar (Gen 10) och ett delvis integrerat wifi-chip. Förutom fyra CPU-kärnor innehåller chipet även en DirectX 12-kompatibel GPU samt en DDR4/LPDDR4-minneskontroller (dubbelkanal, upp till 2400 MHz). Processorn är inte utbytbar eftersom den är direkt fastlödd på moderkortet.

Arkitektur

Processorarkitekturen kallas fortfarande Goldmont Plus. Jämfört med de äldre Goldmont-kärnorna i Apollo Lake har de en ökad nivå 2-cache (till 4 MB). Det innebär att prestandan per klocka ska vara lite bättre, men inte i närheten av kärnprocessorer som Kaby Lake Y.

Prestanda

Celeron J4115:s CPU-prestanda är i våra tester något högre än den äldre N4100 tack vare den högre bashastigheten, högre TDP och (vanligtvis) bättre kylning i minidatorer jämfört med små bärbara datorer. Prestandan är placerad i den lägre ingångsnivån för processorer av 2020. Fortfarande för grundläggande uppgifter som kontorsdräkter, surfning med måttlig multitasking bör processorns prestanda vara bra.

GPU-prestanda

UHD Graphics 600 (Gemini Lake) är baserad på Intels Gen9-arkitektur, som stöder DirectX 12 och som även används för Kaby Lake / Skylake / Apollo Lake-grafikadaptrar (som HD Graphics 520). Utrustad med 12 EU:s och en klockfrekvens på upp till 750 MHz bör prestandan vara ungefär i nivå med den äldre HD Graphics 500 (Apollo Lake).

Chippet innehåller också en avancerad videomotor med hårdvarustöd för uppspelning av VP9- och H.265-material (8-bitars färgdjup).

Strömförbrukning

I likhet med föregångaren anger Intel TDP med 10 watt (mot 6 watt för den mobila N4120 t.ex.). Chippet kan därför kylas passivt i teorin, men SKU:er med fläktar är också möjliga.
