Intel Celeron N4505

Intel Celeron N4500 är en dubbelkärnig SoC i Jasper Lake-serien som främst är avsedd för billiga och små stationära datorer och tillkännagavs i början av 2021. De två Tremont CPU-kärnorna klockar mellan 2 och 2,9 GHz (single core Burst) och erbjuder ingen HyperThreading (SMT). N4505 använder 1,5 MB L2-cache och 4 MB L3-cache. Chippet tillverkas i 10nm hos Intel (sannolikt i samma process som Ice Lake).

CPU-arkitektur

Processorarkitekturen kallas Tremont och är en helt ny design jämfört med de gamla Golmont Plus-kärnorna i föregångaren. Enligt Intel kan en kärnas prestanda för en enda tråd förbättras med i genomsnitt 30 % (10 - 80 % i alla tester av SPECint och SPECfp).

Funktioner

Förutom det dubbelkärniga CPU-blocket integrerar SoC:n en 16 EU Intel UHD Graphics GPU med en klockfrekvens på 450 - 750 MHz och en LPDDR4(x) dubbelkanals minneskontroller (upp till 16 GB och 2933 MHz). Chippet integrerar nu också delvis Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+), 8 PCIe 3.0-vägar, 14 USB 2.0/ 3.2-portar och två SATA 6.0-portar. Paketet har blivit större och mäter 35 x 24 mm (jämfört med 25 x 24 mm för exempelvis N5030). SoC:n är direkt lödd på moderkortet (BGA) och kan inte enkelt bytas ut.

Prestanda

Tack vare den nya CPU-arkitekturen bör prestandan hos N4505 vara något snabbare jämfört med den gamla Celeron N4020 dual core. Celeron N5100 erbjuder två extra kärnor och är därför betydligt snabbare. CPU:n lämpar sig därför endast för grundläggande uppgifter som kontorsdräkter, webbsökning med enkel multitasking.

Strömförbrukning

I likhet med föregångaren anger Intel TDP med 10 watt (mobil N4500 6W). Chippet kan därför kylas passivt i teorin, men SKU:er med fläktar är också möjliga.
