Intel Celeron N3350

Intel Celeron N3350 är en dualkärnad SoC i huvudsak riktad åt billiga laptops som utannonserades i mitten av 2016. Den körs i 1.1-2.4 Ghz (Burst) och är baserad på Apollo Lake-plattformen. I likhet med sin Braswell-föregångare så är chippet tillverkat med en 14 nm process (P1272) med FinFETs. Utöver två CPU-kärnor så innehåller chippet även en DirectX 12-kapabel GPU samt en DDR3L/LPDDR3/LPDDR4-minneskontrollenhet (dual-kanal, upp till 1866/2400 Mhz). 

Arkitektur

För första gången på ett antal år så har Intel arbetat om CPU-arkitekturen för Atom-serien helt och hållet. Tillverkaren uppger prestandaförbättringar på ungefär 30 procent, men avslöjar inget specifikt om dom individuella ändringarna. Den nya Goldmont-arkitekturen borde därför vara ungefärligt jämförbar med AMDs Beema/Carrizo-L APU:er i fråga om prestanda per Mhz, men den är fortfarande långt efter dom dyrare Core CPU:erna (såsom Skylake / Kaby Lake).

Prestanda

CPU-prestandan hos Celeron N3450 med 2 CPU-kärnor och en klockfrekvens mellan 1.1-2.4 Ghz borde bero en hel del på kyllösningen. Om chippet kan upprätthålla sin Boost-klockfrekvens så borde N3450 vara ungefär 20-30 procent snabbare än den äldre N2840 (Braswell) och tävlar med en Celeron 2955U (Haswell, 2st 1.4 Ghz): Detta betyder att procecssorn är perfekt lämpad för vardagliga uppgifter (kontorsprogram, surfande) så väl som måttlig multi-tasking.

GPU Prestanda

HD Graphics 500 (Apollo Lake) är baserad på Intels Gen9-arkitektur, som stödjer DirectX 12 och även används i Kaby Lake- / Skylake-grafikchip (såsom HD Graphics 520). Utrustad med 12 EU:s och en klockfrekvens på upp till 650 Mhz så borde prestandan ungefär vara jämförbar med dom äldre HD Graphics (Braswell). Detta betyder att endast äldre eller enklare titlar fungerar smidigt.

Chippet inkluderar också en avancerad videomotor med hårdvarustöd för uppspelning av VP9 och H.265-material (8-bit färgdjup).

Energiförbrukning

I likhet med föregångaren så uppger Intel en TDP med 6 Watt (SDP 4 Watt – Scenario Design Power). Chippet kan därför i teorin kylas passivt, men SKU:er med fläktar är också möjligt.
