Recension av Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14Q8Y11: En satsning på Windows ARM med Snapdragon X2E

Snabbare med Snapdragon.

Trots all kritik mot Snapdragon X1E-serien är Qualcomm tillbaka i år med Snapdragon X2E. Prestandan är extremt snabb och överträffar till och med Intel Panther Lake Core X9-serien på många sätt.

Slutsats — Slår Snapdragon X1E med hästlängder

Förväntningarna var höga på Snapdragon X1E när den lanserades förra året, men de första prestandatesterna och intrycken levde inte upp till vad chipet behövde prestera jämfört med populära alternativ från Intel och AMD. För 2026 är den nya Snapdragon X2E en så enorm förbättring jämfört med sin föregångare att den överträffar eller till och med kan mäta sig med de senaste konkurrerande Panther Lake-X-alternativen, inklusive Core Ultra X7 386H i klassiska multitrådade applikationer. En stor del av denna prestanda upprätthålls även genom x64-emulering, vilket innebär att prestandaförlusten vid körning av icke-inbyggda ARM-appar minskas med Snapdragon X2E-serien.

Ovanstående fördelar skulle inte betyda mycket om Snapdragon-systemet skulle bli varmare eller bullrigare för att uppnå sina högre prestandamål, men så verkar inte vara fallet. Istället skulle Lenovos ARM-system både ha längre drifttid och bli betydligt svalare jämfört med andra x64-subnotebooks som Yoga Slim 7a 14 eller den nya Asus ExpertBook Ultra. ARM:s centrala fördelar bibehålls med Snapdragon X2E i detta avseende.

Snapdragon-serien har fortfarande en lång väg kvar trots de betydande framstegen jämfört med föregående år. Vissa nischapplikationer fungerar fortfarande inte alls, vilket i vårt fall omfattar vissa spel (F1 24) och program (X-Rite, MetraWin m.fl.). Med andra ord är prestanda och batteritid imponerande när man kör programvara som har optimerats ordentligt för Windows ARM, men i övrigt är det rena vilda västern när det gäller tillförlitlighet. Det spelar ingen roll hur snabb eller smal den 2 000 dollar dyra Yoga Slim 7 14 än är om den inte fungerar med de appar du behöver för ditt dagliga arbete. Den inbyggda grafikkortet är visserligen fortfarande utmärkt, men hamnar ändå något efter det högt ansedda Arc B390. Yoga Slim 7 14 ARM kan därför vara något av en risk, men vinsten är påtaglig om du är säker på att Windows och Snapdragon är kompatibla med dina användningsscenarier.

Köpare som vill gå på det säkra kan överväga Intel- eller AMD-versionerna av Yoga Slim 7 14, som ser identiska ut men inte medför någon risk för kompatibilitetsproblem med x64-programvara.

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14Q8Y11 är den ARM-baserade varianten av x64-modellen Yoga Slim 7 14. Den är utrustad med den nya processorn Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-88-100, som ersätter förra årets Snapdragon X1E-modeller. I övrigt är modellen visuellt identisk med Yoga Slim 7a 14 och därför gäller många av våra tidigare kommentarer gäller fortfarande för Yoga Slim 7 14Q8Y11.

Vårt testexemplar är en toppkonfiguration utrustad med Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-88-100 och en 1200p60 OLED-pekskärm till ett pris av cirka 2100 dollar. Lägre prissatta modeller börjar med Snapdragon X2 Plus X2P-42-100, medan de mer avancerade alternativen har en OLED-pekskärm med högre upplösning på 1800p120.

Qualcomm-modellen konkurrerar med andra subnotebooks för prosumers, såsom Dell XPS 14 Asus ZenBook A14eller HP X OmniBook-serien.

Hållbarhet

Chassit består av upp till 60 procent återvunnen aluminiumlegering för tangentbordets bottenplatta och det nedre D-skyddet samt upp till 90 procent återvunnen PCC-plast för batteripaketet, tangenternas knappar och adapterhöljet. Förpackningen i sig är helt återvinningsbar och fri från plast.

För att dämpa skärmen kommer vissa bärbara datorer helt enkelt att slå på och av bakgrundsbelysningen i snabb följd - en metod som kallas Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . Denna cykelfrekvens bör helst vara oupptäckbar för det mänskliga ögat. Om frekvensen är för låg kan användare med känsliga ögon uppleva spänningar eller huvudvärk eller till och med märka flimmer helt och hållet.

Displayens bakgrundsbelysning flimrar vid 482.1 Hz (i värsta fall, t.ex. med PWM) Flimrande upptäckt vid en ljusstyrkeinställning på 100 % och lägre. Det ska inte finnas något flimmer eller PWM över denna ljusstyrkeinställning.

Frekvensen för 482.1 Hz är relativt hög, så de flesta användare som är känsliga för PWM bör inte märka något flimmer. Det finns dock rapporter om att vissa användare fortfarande är känsliga för PWM vid 500 Hz och högre, så var uppmärksam.

Som jämförelse: 52 % av alla testade enheter använder inte PWM för att dämpa skärmen. Om PWM upptäcktes mättes ett medelvärde av 7750 (minst: 5 - maximum: 343500) Hz.

Trots OLED-skärmens skärpa kunde den maximala ljusstyrkan i SDR-läget ha varit högre för att kompensera för skärmens glans. Räkna med kraftiga reflexer om du använder systemet utomhus.

Prestanda

Testförhållanden

Vi ställde in Windows i prestandaläge innan vi körde nedanstående prestandatester.

Processor

Ren flertrådsprestanda med vår Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-88-100 har förbättrats avsevärt jämfört med förra generationens Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80 med cirka 50 till 60 procent. Faktum är att Qualcomm-chipet överträffar den nya Panther Lake Core Ultra X9 388H när det körs med inbyggda ARM-applikationer, samtidigt som det kan mäta sig med Intel-chipet när det körs med x64-applikationer via emulering.

Prestandan kan minska med cirka 19 procent över tid vid hög belastning, vilket framgår av våra CineBench R15 xT-loop-testresultat nedan, men nedgången är långsam och kan anses vara irrelevant för målgruppen.

Systemljud

Fläktarnas beteende liknar det vi observerade på Yoga Slim 7a 14, trots de olika processorerna och att Qualcomm-processorn generellt sett har lägre kärntemperaturer. Vår enhet var tyst eller knappt hörbar vid webbsurfning eller videostreaming, men fläktarna ökade i varvtal ganska snabbt och märkbart när den utsattes för högre belastning, till exempel vid spel.

SoC:s strömförbrukning steg till 76 W när Prime95-belastningstestet startades, för att sedan snabbt sjunka till 43 W och slutligen till 34 W, vilket framgår av skärmdumparna nedan. Kärntemperaturen stabiliseras dock på relativt svala 73 °C jämfört med 80 °C eller 90 °C på många subnotebooks från Intel eller AMD, inklusive den senaste Asus ExpertBook Ultra. Strömförbrukning

Strömförbrukningen vid GPU-krävande belastningar, såsom spel, är lägre än på den AMD-baserade Yoga Slim 7a 14, samtidigt som den är betydligt snabbare och därmed ger mycket bättre prestanda per watt. Å andra sidan är strömförbrukningen högre än med AMD vid CPU-krävande uppgifter som CineBench, men CPU-prestandan är också högre med Qualcomm, vilket kompenserar för detta. Den genomsnittliga strömförbrukningen är ändå högre än hos modeller med Snapdragon X1-SoC:er från förra generationen, såsom Asus ZenBook A14 eller HP Omnibook 5 14, särskilt under belastning.
