Apple M4 8-Core

Den 8-kärniga Apple M4 är en processor med ARM-arkitektur (SoC) som har 8 CPU-kärnor, en 16-kärnig neural motor och en 8-kärnig GPU med RT-stöd för hårdvara. Processorn debuterade i oktober 2024; den skär ner på antalet effektivitetskärnor men har tack och lov samma 4 prestandakärnor som sina kraftfullare bröder gör. De senare körs definitivt på 4,0 GHz eller mer under kortvariga arbetsbelastningar.

Detta är den tredje medlemmen i M4-familjen. Den ansluter sig till 10-kärniga M4 och den 9-kärniga M4 som presenterades för flera månader sedan. Det är ännu inte känt om detta nya chip är en 10-kärnig M4 med flera moduler inaktiverade, eller om det faktiskt är en ny dö som har färre CPU- och GPU-kärnor genom design.

SME2-stöd verkar indikera att en kraftigt anpassad version av ARM v9.4a-mikroarkitekturen används för både prestandakärnorna och effektivitetskärnorna. M4 levereras med 16 GB eller 24 GB inbyggt LPDDR5X-7500 RAM-minne samt Wi-Fi 6E och BT 5.3. Thunderbolt 3 och USB 4 finns också ombord, liksom stöd för DisplayPort.

Prestandan kommer att vara tillräckligt bra för alla dagliga uppgifter, eftersom Apple:s nuvarande generation prestandakärnor levererar fantastisk prestanda med en enda tråd och chippet har 4 av dem. Vi förväntar oss att M4 ska leverera cirka 12 000 Geekbench 6.3 Multi-poäng och ~850 Cinebench 2024-poäng.

När det gäller strömförbrukning äter SoC förmodligen runt 6 W under långvarig arbetsbelastning. Vi uppdaterar det här avsnittet när vi får in den nya iMacen för testning.
