Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

När vi tittade på RTX 2070 Max-Q i Blade 15 såg vi att dess 1080p-prestanda bara låg 15% över GTX 1070 Max-Q. Således förväntade vi oss detsamma från RTX 2060 i förhållande till GTX 1060. Vi blev glada över att upptäcka att RTX 2060 faktiskt är runt 35% snabbare eller mer jämfört med förra generationens GTX 1060. Den hamnar fortfarande en aning efter GTX 1070, så den som äger ett GTX 1070 behöver inte känna att något saknas — åtminstone inte förräns DLSS och raytracing blir vanligare. Faktum är att RTX 2060 har mer gemensamt med ett GTX 1070 Max-Q än ett GTX 1070, hela vägen ner till dess energiförbrukning.

När det kommer till själva MSI GL73 är de tre interna lagringsplatserna, de riktigt starka högtalarna och en högkvalitativ 120 Hz-skärm funktionerna som får den att stå ut; alla tre är ovanliga på billiga bärbara speldatorer. Kom ihåg att fläktarna kan vara ganska högljudda vid spelande och att batteritiden bara är på ett par timmar som bäst. I övrigt är denna laptop ganska genomsnittlig och budgetorienterad, hela vägen från dess plastytor till de små gångjärnen. Vi rekommenderar även slutanvändarkalibrering för att få mycket bättre färgprecision.

Det som i huvudsak hindrar oss från att anse att MSI GL73 är bättre än rivalen Asus TUF FX705 är tjockare infattning och större storlek. Den har svalare kärntemperaturer än Asus modell och den har fler lagringsalternativ, men huruvida detta är värt beror på användaren.

Om du inte måste ha mobilt GeForce RTX är system med förra generationens GTX 1070 bra alternativ, särskilt nu när priserna på GTX-baserade bärbara speldatorer har gått ned.

MSI GL73 har allt du behöver från en nybörjarspelmaskin för 1080p, från breda lagringsalternativ till en snabb 5 ms/120 Hz-skärm och nästa generations Nvidia Turing-grafik. Om du kommer resa mycket kan det däremot vara mer värt att överväga den mobilare Asus TUF FX705 istället.
