Tunn och kraftfull. Asus släppte 17-tumsversionen av sin toppskikts-laptop GX531 kort efter att Nvidia släppte sina Turing-baserade grafikkort. Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Eftersom utbudet av tunna bärbara datorer på 17.3 tum i toppskiktet är extremt begränsat har Asus ett äss i rockärmen i form av splitter nya ROG Zephyrus S GX701GX.

Absolut, det går att klaga på saker som portutbudet, fläktkontrollen, servicemöjligheterna och inmatningsenheterna. Men trots det blev vi positivt överraskade av denna 17-tumslaptop. Det är mycket man kan tycka är spännande, inte bara 144 Hz-skärmen med god färgprecision utan också den snabbaste implementeringen av RTX 2080 Max-Q som finns på marknaden.

Men denna laptop har en rejäl prislapp: Asus vill ha 30.000 kronor för toppskiktsmodellen. Den som föredrar en enhet på 15 tum bör ta en titt på
