Premiär för AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX - Recension av Razer Blade 14

Har fått Zen 3+ Nano Boost. Blade 14 omdefinierar våra förväntningar på vad en ultratunn 14-tumslaptop kan göra. Som om 2021 års modell inte redan var tillräckligt snabb för sin storlek höjer den senaste 2022-revideringen ribban ännu högre, särskilt när det gäller processorprestanda.

Blade 14 från 2021 är nästan ett år gammal och skulle kunna släppas i dag, men skulle fortfarande överträffa de flesta, om inte alla bärbara 14-tumsdatorer som finns tillgängliga för närvarande. Dess AMD Zen 3 Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU och GeForce RTX 3070/3080-grafik är ingen höjdare inom spelområdet för bärbara datorer, men årets uppdatering höjer priset ytterligare med den nyare Zen 3+ Ryzen 5900HX CPU:n, snabbare RAM-minne och både GeForce RTX 3070 Ti och 3080 Ti grafikalternativ.

Konfigurationer börjar på 2000 USD med GeForce RTX 3060 och 144 Hz FHD-skärm upp till 3500 USD med RTX 3080 Ti och 165 Hz QHD-skärm. Alla SKU:er levereras annars med samma Ryzen 9 6900HX CPU, 100 W TGP-mål, 16 GB DDR5-4800-lödda RAM och 1 TB PCIe4 x4 NVMe SSD. Vår enhet i recensionen är det mittersta alternativet med RTX 3070 Ti och 165 Hz QHD-skärm för cirka 2 700 dollar i detaljhandeln.

Den direkta konkurrenten till Blade 14 är Asus Zephyrus G14-serie. Eftersom det finns så få bärbara datorer för spel på 14 tum kommer vi dock också att jämföra Blade 14 med mer traditionellt utformade modeller på 15,6 tum eller större, som t.ex. MSI Stealth GS66 eller Lenovo Legion C7.

Hölje - Klassisk Razer i en mindre storlek

Chassit är identiskt med förra årets version eftersom 2022 års version endast är en intern uppdatering av prestandan. Den år gamla designen känns dock fortfarande fräsch, särskilt eftersom konkurrensen fortfarande är sparsam inom 14-tums gamingområdet. Det är fortfarande tunnare än Zephyrus G14 med en märkbar marginal samtidigt som den väger ungefär lika mycket för en tätare känsla. Naturligtvis kommer Razer-användare att ge upp de unika AniMe Matrix LED-funktionerna hos Asus för den smalare och smidigare unibody-byggnaden.

Några grundläggande saker som vi har kommit att förvänta oss från avancerade Ultrabooks som en fingeravtrycksläsare eller en stängare för webbkameran fortsätter att saknas.

Tillbehör och garanti

Några klistermärken med Razer-logotypen ingår i lådan tillsammans med den vanliga nätadaptern och pappersarbetet. När det gäller garantin inför Razer ett tvåårigt skydd för batteriet vid varje nytt köp utöver den vanliga ettåriga begränsade garantin för den bärbara datorn.

Skärm - QHD med alla klockor och visselpipor

1440p IPS-panelen på vår 2022-testenhet är TL140BDXP02-2 medan vår 2021-enhet hade TL140BDXP02-0. Allt annat är i övrigt nästan identiskt mellan dem, vilket ger i stort sett samma visningsupplevelse från år till år. Det här är fortfarande en av de enda 14-tumsmodellerna du kan hitta på marknaden för tillfället med 165 Hz uppdateringsfrekvens i original, FreeSync Premium, full DCI-P3-täckning och snabba svarstider i ett och samma paket.

Det är värt att notera att senaste Asus Zephyrus G14-modellen har gått över till 16:10 medan Blade 14 fortfarande är 16:9. Till skillnad från Razer har Asus-modellen dock inget 165 Hz-alternativ.

Oberoende mätningar med vår X-Rite-färgmätare visar nästan identiska färgrymder mellan QUD 2021 Blade 14 och QUD 2022 Blade 14 med ungefär 97 procent av DCI-P3. Som standard verkar dock skärmen vara inställd på sRGB i stället för DCI-P3 utan något tydligt sätt att byta till DCI-P3. Som jämförelse kan nämnas att den ursprungliga 2021-modellen var inställd på DCI-P3 som standard. Display Response Times

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Prestanda - Ryzen 9 6900HX Debut

 
 

Provningsförhållanden

Vår enhet ställdes in i prestandaläge via Windows och CPU och GPU ställdes in på Boost respektive High via Synapse innan vi körde de prestandabänkningar som anges nedan. Vi rekommenderar att användarna bekantar sig med Synapse-programvaran eftersom många viktiga funktioner växlas här, bland annat videouppdateringsfrekvensen och MUX-omkopplingen mellan Optimus och diskret grafik. Som jämförelse saknade 2021 Blade 14 Synapse-programvaran alternativet MUX-switch.

Processor - märkbar ökning av prestandan för en enda tråd

I vår recension av 2021 Blade 14 noterade vi att prestandan för en enda tråd var en besvikelse jämfört med andra CPU:er i H-serien. Tack och lov har de nyare Ryzen 9 6900HX har åtgärdat dessa problem genom att öka prestandan i en och flera trådar med cirka 30 procent respektive 10 procent jämfört med den tidigare generationen Ryzen 9 5900HX motsvarighet. Den råa prestandan för flera trådar ligger inom ensiffriga procentenheter jämfört med den 12:e generationen Core i7-12800H som återfinns på den större Blade 17. Kort sagt kan Blade 14 verkligen erbjuda en liknande nivå av CPU-prestanda som en "normalstor" bärbar dator för spel.

Ryzen 9 6900HX kan troligen köras snabbare på ett större chassi. Den 15,6-tums Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE GX551QS med den äldre Ryzen 9 5900HX, till exempel, ligger i nivå med vår mindre Blade 14 när det gäller processorprestanda.

LatencyMon visar inga DPC-problem när vi öppnar flera webbläsarflikar på vår hemsida. GPU-prestanda - inte mycket av en uppgradering

Prestandasprånget från den GeForce RTX 3070 i Blade 14 från 2021 till GeForce RTX 3070 Ti i vår 2022-modell är liten till måttlig beroende på spel och upplösningsinställning. Spel på 2022-modellen kan köras upp till 30 till 40 procent snabbare om de körs på lägre grafiska inställningar medan högre inställningar vid den ursprungliga 1440p-upplösningen ger mycket mindre fördelar på under 10 procent. Cyberpunk 2077 är ett utmärkt exempel där detta skulle inträffa. Vi misstänker att den betydande ökningen av CPU-prestanda med en enda tråd jämfört med Ryzen 9 5900HX är ansvarig för de mycket snabbare bildfrekvenserna i CPU-bundna scenarier medan det snabbare DDR5-4800 RAM-minnet i 2022-modellen kan bidra mer än det långsammare DDR4-3200 RAM-minnet i den äldre 2021-modellen när man spelar i högre upplösningar.

Skillnaden mellan mobila RTX 3070 och mobila RTX 3070 Ti är relativt liten enligt 3DMark-benchmarks, trots att större prestandamarginaler kan observeras när man kör verkliga spel i vissa upplösningar. Detta tyder på att den snabbare CPU:n och RAM-minnet på årets Blade 14 är en mindre flaskhals för GPU:n.

Target TGP fortsätter att begränsas till 100 W vilket är i den nedre delen av prestandaskalan. MSI Vector GP66har till exempel samma RTX 3070 Ti GPU som vår 2022 Blade 14 men med ett högre TGP-mål på 150 W för upp till 15-20 procent snabbare grafikprestanda.

Att köra på profilen Balanced i stället för profilen Maximum Performance påverkar både CPU- och GPU-prestanda med cirka 6 procent.
