Den fjärde generationen av Lenovos högklassiga multimediebärbara dator finns även med en kraftfullare kylningslösning med ångkammare, vilket gör det möjligt att implementera mycket kraftfullare grafikkort. Skärm - 4K pekskärm med HDR

Prestanda - X1 Extreme med Core i9 och RTX 3080

Översikt av inställningar

Lenovo brukade erbjuda ytterligare prestandainställningar som var tillgängliga via Vantage-appen. Sedan ett tag tillbaka är de dock implementerade i de vanliga ströminställningarna i Windows, vilket är mycket bekvämt. Strax innan den här recensionen publicerades erbjöd Lenovo en ny BIOS-version (1.13) med uppdaterade termiska inställningar. Vi märkte små prestandaförbättringar i vissa tester, så vi bestämde oss för att upprepa alla tester och mätningar med den nya BIOS-versionen.

Processor

Vår testenhet är utrustad medCore i9-11950Hsom stöder Intels vPro-teknik. Processorn kan nå en maximal klockfrekvens på 5,0 GHz på en kärna och upp till 4,5 GHz när du belastar alla kärnor. Vi såg en maximal klockning på 4,9 GHz under benchmarks för en kärna och 4,4 GHz för alla 8 kärnor, vilket resulterar i en strömförbrukning på 100 watt. Detta värde kan bara upprätthållas under en kort period och enheten måste vara "kall", annars är den maximala TDP:n begränsad till 80 W. Båda värdena sjunker snabbt vid ihållande arbetsbelastning och processorn planar ut på lite mer än 60 W. BIOS-uppdateringen till version 1.13 förbättrade situationen något och prestandan var lägre tidigare. Allt som allt hyfsade resultat, men detta innebär att Core i9 endast har en fördel i mycket korta toppbelastningsscenarier eller när du stressar en kärna, men den är inte mycket snabbare än de förmodat långsammare Core i7-chipen i uthålliga arbetsbelastningar.

AMD:s motsvarighetAMD Ryzen 9 5900HXiAsus Zephyrus Duo 15är märkbart snabbare i flerkärniga tester och det finns ingen prestandaförlust (TDP @ 70 W). Apple'sM1 ProellerM1 MaxCPU är också något snabbare i inbyggda appar som Cinebench R23, men ligger bara långt före när det gäller effektivitet med en strömförbrukning på bara ~30 W.

På det hela taget är den valfria Core i9-11950H inte heller särskilt meningsfull i ThinkPad X1 Extreme G4. TDP fluktuerar ganska mycket mellan 35W och 70W på batteri, så riktmärkesresultaten varierar också (mellan 1500-1670 poäng @CBR15 Multi), så du får räkna med ett prestandaförlust på mellan 20-30 procent om du inte kör på nätet. Systemets prestanda är i allmänhet mycket bra; systemet är subjektivt sett mycket responsivt och klarar höga poäng i benchmarks. Det är dock i nivå medThinkPad P1 G4som vi testade med den vanliga Core i7 och RTX 3070. Minnesprestandan borde också ha en effekt, eftersom du visserligen får 32 GB, men bara en modul i en enkanalskonfiguration. Detta förklarar också den jämförelsevis låga prestandan i AIDA:s minnesjämförelser.

I likhet med våra tidigare testmodeller av X1 Extreme G4/P1 G4 finns det allvarliga grafikproblem när enheten vaknar upp från standby och ibland även när du startar 3D-program eller ansluter externa bildskärmar. Detta kräver en omstart av enheten och det verkar vara kopplat till iGPU-drivrutinerna. Det enda sättet att bli av med problemet just nu är att avaktivera Hybrid Graphics i BIOS. Lenovo bör erbjuda en lösning på det här problemet så snart som möjligt, eftersom du inte riktigt kan använda den bärbara datorn på ett tillförlitligt sätt med det här problemet.

Medan den tredje generationen av ThinkPad X1 Extreme endast fanns tillgänglig med GPU:er i mellanklassen, kan Lenovo nu implementera kraftfullare Nvidia RTX GPU:er tack vare kylning i ångkammaren. Det snabbaste alternativet ärRTX 3080, som också finns i vår recensionsenhet. Det är dock 90W-modellen och därmed en av de långsammaste RTX 3080-versionerna. Vi ser en maximal kärnklocka på 1425 MHz i benchmarks. Detta är inte mycket snabbare än RTX 3070 som vi testade i arbetsstationens motsvarighet ThinkPad P1 G4, men RTX 3080 har fördelen av 16 GB VRAM.

Benchmarks visar att RTX 3080 i X1 Extreme är cirka 15-20 procent långsammare än de genomsnittliga resultaten för denna GPU och den är faktiskt bara något snabbare än RTX 3070 i ThinkPad P1 G4. Detta innebär att RTX 3080 endast är meningsfullt när du kan utnyttja det större VRAM.

Spelprestanda

Det är självklart möjligt att spela på X1 Extreme G4, men prestandan motsvarar återigen inte riktigt förväntningarna påRTX 3080och den övergripande prestandan är mycket lik RTX 3070 iThinkPad P1 G4. Prestandan är ändå lätt tillräcklig för maximala inställningar i de flesta spel. Trots 4K-skärmen kunde vi ofta inte välja 4K-upplösning (16:9) i många titlar, så dessa resultat saknas. Spelprestandan är stabil under längre sessioner, men sjunker med ~40 procent (50 vs. 85 fps @Witcher 3 Ultra) på batteriet. Du kan hitta fler benchmarks för spel här.
