Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact är en avancerad smartphone med en 4.6-tums skärm, och en sådan liten formfaktor har ett sällsynt värde. Om du letar efter en kraftfull smartphone som lätt kan hanteras med en hand så är detta definitivt enheten för dig. Men Xperia XZ1 Compact, som bär en officiell prislapp på ~ 6 000 SEK (599 Euro) har mer att komma med än bara liten storlek och hög prestanda. 

En av dom uppenbara lockelserna är operativsystemet Android 8.0 - vid tillfället vi skriver detta är den en av väldigt få telefoner som kör det nya systemet. Och listan över fördelar fortsätter: en blixtsnabb WLAN-modul, bra kameror, bra högtalare, ljusstark och jämnt upplyst HD-skärm och en tillfredställande lång batteritid. Under huven sitter en avancerad Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC som försäkrar att allt flyter på smidigt. 

Liten formfaktor, avancerad hårdvara och Android 8.0 - för tillfället förenas dessa tre bara i Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact.

Det finns inget allvarligt att kritisera hos Xperia XZ1 Compact. Det faktum att batteriet inte går att byta ut är definitivt överkomligt. Men höljet kan vara en öm punkt för en del. Med sina hårda kanter och skarpa hörn samt dess jämförelsevis stora tomma ytor ovanför och under skärmen kommer designen inte att göra alla nöjda.
