Den är äntligen här, den första ihopvikbara telefonen som når Europa och våra kontor. Galaxy Fold är utan tvekan en innovativ produkt - med sin vikbara skärm erbjuder den ett fönster in i framtiden. Huruvida Samsungs design är ideal är dock en fråga om smak. Huawei Mate X ser bra ut, men om skärmen är lika känslig som den i Galaxy Fold måste vi ifrågasätta hur hållbar och praktisk den är.
Föga förvånande är huvudskärmen en av de största bristerna med Galaxy Fold. Den vikbara skärmen är känslig trots förstärkning, så förvänta dig inte att Galaxy Fold ska vara robust eller MIL-STD- eller IP-certifierad. Att bara trycka för hårt eller trycka på den med naglarna kan lämna djupa avtryck i skärmen, vilket kan bli ett problem för barn eller för den som har lösnaglar. Samsung täcker inte nödvändigtvis sådan skada ens med Care+, vilket är värt att tänka på innan du köper Galaxy Fold. Reparationer efter det första året ska vi nog inte ens prata om.
Ihopvikbar, utmärkta tillbehör och många superlativ. Samsung Galaxy Fold är en kraftfull bit teknik, men den kanske bara är för personer med känsliga fingrar.
Mjukvaran, som än så länge bara har anpassats till det här formatet, begränsar också nöjet man får ut av Galaxy Fold. Men eftersom Galaxy Fold är en av de första modellerna av sitt slag kan vi för tillfället ha förbiseende med de mjukvarubaserade bristerna. Totalt sett är Galaxy Fold en riktigt bra och välansluten smartphone. Så om du har pengar över och sköter om dina telefoner väl kan Samsung Galaxy Fold vara värd att överväga.
