Nästan lika lätt som XPS 13. Gram 17 går mot trenden som säger att bärbara datorer på 17 tum är stora och otympliga. Med en vikt på bara 1.34 kg är denna laptop märkbart lättare än de flesta Ultrabook-modeller på 14 eller 15 tum samtidigt som den har i stort sett samma funktioner, vilket inkluderar Thunderbolt 3 och lång batteritid.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

LG Gram 17 lämpar sig bäst för den som vill ha en stor skärm på 17 tum men som inte gillar den klumpiga storleken sådana enheter brukar ha. Den extraordinärt låga vikten och den rejäla uthålligheten gör detta till en av de bästa bärbara datorerna i sin kategori för den som reser mycket. Om du upplever att de flesta Ultrabook-modeller inte har tillräckligt mycket skärmyta bör Gram 17 passa perfekt.

Priset man får betala för en såpass lätt 17-tumsenhet är högt. Trots metall-smink och MIL-STD 810G-specifikationer är Gram 17 inte i närheten av att vara så robust som XPS 15, Spectre x360 15 eller för den delen någon annan Ultrabook-modell. Man får vara försiktig så man inte skadar det sköra locket när man är ute och reser.

Andra märkbara brister inkluderar de mjuka tangentbordsknapparna och den mjuka styrplattan, den medelmåttiga ljudkvaliteten, Core i7-prestanda som ligger under genomsnittet samt att den är svår att underhålla för en vanlig användare. LG kunde ha sänkt instegspriset genom att erbjuda ett alternativ för Core i5 och en mindre SSD-enhet utan att det hade påverkat systemets generella prestanda. För 15.000 kronor går det att köpa den rejälare och betydligt snabbare Dell XPS 15, vilket gör Gram 17 mindre intressant. Om den stora 17-tumsskärmen inte tilltalar dig är det nog bättre du väljer en traditionell Ultrabook på 13 eller 15 tum.

Mycket lättare än andra mindre Ultrabook-modeller som finns på marknaden samtidigt som den har en större WQXGA-skärm på 17 tum. LG har stakat ut en bekväm nisch i det ganska opopulära 17-tumssegmentet. Gram 17 är en multimedia- och kontorslösning utan krusiduller som passar den som reser mycket och som kan dra nytta av den rymliga skärmen på 17 tum.
