LG Gram 17 recension - En superlätt 17-tums bärbar dator med en blygsam dGPU

Slutligen med en dGPU Den Nvidia GeForce RTX 2050-utrustade 2022 LG Gram 17 väger endast 57 gram mer än sin motsvarighet - en enhet som inte har något dedikerat grafikkort. Utöver detta erbjuder den bärbara datorn en 12:e generationens Intel Core i7 och 32 GB RAM. Trots att den har kraftfullare hårdvara håller batteriet som erbjuds här längre än sina föregångare.

LG Gram: Ett namn som är synonymt med extremt lätta bärbara datorer med kraftfulla processorer och, i det här fallet, även en dedikerad GPU. Med sina 1 407 gram är den bärbara datorn dock bara marginellt tyngre än sin motsvarighet som kommer utan dGPU. Tack vare Nvidia GeForce RTX 2050och Intel Core i7-1260Pfinns prestanda på hög nivå att tillgå - åtminstone på pappret. I praktiken måste hårdvaran ge vika för det begränsade utrymme som den 18 mm tunna bärbara datorn ger. LG har faktiskt lyckats hålla CPU:s och GPU:s spillvärme under kontroll med effektiv kylning, men har också satt relativt låga TDP-värden.

Bortsett från de andra bärbara LG Gram-datorerna finns det inga andra 17-tums enheter i vår databas som är lika smala som den sydkoreanska tillverkarens lättviktare. Därför använder vi betydligt mindre enheter som t.ex Samsung Galaxy Book 15 ellerLenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro Xsom jämförelse.

Hölje - Flexibelt magnesium

Gram 17 är mycket smal, vilket är typiskt för LG:s Gram-serie. Med sina tunna ramar är den bärbara 17-tumsdatorn knappt större än andra 15,6-16-tums enheter. Den bärbara datorns magnesiumhölje har knappt förändrats sedan 2021 LG Gram 17Z90P. Endast valet av färger verkar ha utökats. Under tiden finns även en svart LG Gram 17 tillgänglig. På den bärbara datorns undersida har de ibland opraktiska gummifötterna ersatts av ett stativ som tar upp nästan hela enhetens bredd. Detta eliminerar åtminstone böjning när tangentbordet trycks in för hårt. För vår smak är fodralet ändå fortfarande lite för flexibelt och känns väldigt ömtåligt. Ibland knarrar den bärbara datorn när den vrids trots att finishen verkar jämn och det inte finns några synliga luckor i fodralet.

Webbkamera

Jämfört med den tidigare modellen har webbkameran på LG Gram 17 2022 förbättrats. Den erbjuder nu en högre FullHD-upplösning och ansiktsigenkänning via Windows Hello. Kameran är inte särskilt ljusstark och kräver bra belysning för att ge någorlunda skarpa bilder. Webbkameran är dock tillräcklig för grundläggande videosamtal.

Säkerhet

Webbkameran med Windows Hello-funktion är ny. I gengäld har LG Grams fingeravtryckssensor tagits bort. En Kensington Lock Slot tar hand om den fysiska säkerheten, och dessutom erbjuder Intel Core i7-1260P säkerhetsfunktioner som TPM 2.0 och SecureBoot.

Tillbehör

LG har endast inkluderat en USB-C-strömadapter och typisk dokumentation och har i stort sett tagit bort plast i förpackningen. Endast strömadaptern befinner sig i en väska och en skyddsfilm täcker displaylocket. En del av förpackningen kan upcyclas till en evighetskalender och ett pennskrin tack vare prefabricerade stanshål.

Underhåll

Tyvärr har LG inte gjort några framsteg när det gäller underhåll. Alla enhetens skruvar är täckta av påklistrade fötter eller plastskydd. Internt har den bärbara datorn endast ett fåtal utbytbara moduler. Likaså är wifi-modulen och RAM-minnet lödda. Trots detta finns det en ledig M.2-plats för en extra SSD.

Garanti

I Europa ger LG en tillverkargaranti på 24 månader. LG erbjuder inte heller förlängda garantier eller försäkringar.

Inmatningsenheter - Högre stabilitet tack vare det nya stativet

Endast små ändringar av tangentbordet har gjorts jämfört med den tidigare modellen. Ur mekanisk synvinkel är de båda enheterna identiska. Bokstäverna har krympt lite vilket innebär att tangenterna inte längre ser överdimensionerade ut. Mekaniskt sett är tangentbordet detsamma som tidigare. En påtaglig tryckpunkt komplimenteras av korta tangentavstånd och ser till att den smala bärbara datorn är behaglig att skriva på. Pekplattan och tangentbordet gynnas av det nya inbyggda stativet. Basen böjer sig mycket mindre och det finns också mindre eftergift när man trycker på tangentbordet. Pekplattan utlöses inte längre lika lätt av misstag när ett ökande tryck utövas på handflatsstödet. När den placeras på användarens knä sker fortfarande oavsiktliga klick.

LG har valt en skärm med 2560 x 1600 pixlar, 16:10, som är mycket jämnare upplyst än dess föregångare. Som ett resultat ligger skärmens genomsnittliga ljusstyrka på 358 cd/m². Jämfört med tidigare modellhar skärmens kontrastförhållande också förbättrats något och den största förbättringen kommer i form av en matt skärmyta. Detta ger ett mervärde till vad som redan var en bra skärm. Bristen på reflektioner har en positiv effekt på skärmens läsbarhet. TheLG Gram 17Z90Q-G.AA56G utan dGPU drar också nytta av samma förändringar.

LG Gram 17 har en bra färgåtergivning. Med vår egen ICC-profil (en nedladdning finns i infoboxen) ligger färgavvikelserna långt under den erforderliga ΔΕ 3 med ett genomsnitt på ΔΕ 1,42. I skärmens fabriksinställning syns en lätt blå nyans. Detta är dock mer märkbart i uppmätta resultat än med blotta ögat. Med hjälp av ICC-profilen kan detta elimineras helt och hållet.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Prestandainställningar och testförhållanden

LG Smart Assistant

LG Grams prestanda kan främst anpassas med hjälp av appen LG Smart Assistant. Den bärbara datorn har tre prestandanivåer som heter "Cool Mode" och de sträcker sig från "Low" till "Normal", hela vägen upp till "High".

I alla tre lägen anger HWinfo en PL2 på 42 watt för processorn. Vi upptäckte dock att denna siffra inte uppnåddes med hjälp av det låga kylningsläget. Under längre perioder kan processorn arbeta på 12 watt. Om du vill använda grafiskt krävande program med tysta inställningar väntar besvikelse. Efter cirka två minuters belastning sjunker RTX 2050:s prestanda så mycket att många appar helt enkelt kraschar. Detta framgår också av loggen efter det korta stresstestet.

Kylningsläget "Normal" gör att Core i7 kan arbeta under längre perioder med 25 watt, medan kylningsläget "High" tillåter 28 watt. Om grafikkortet samtidigt belastas krymper dessa värden. Loggarna visar 15 watt i kylningsläget "High" och 10 watt i "Normal". Under längre perioder kan RTX 2050 köras på 31 respektive 17 watt. Alla benchmarks, med undantag för effektmätningarna, utfördes med kylningsläget "High".

Processor

TheIntel Core i7-1260P är en högklassig processor för smala bärbara datorer. Åtta E- och fyra P-kärnor ger 16 trådar. Med konfigurationen i LG Gram på PL1 och PL2 presterar APU:n något under sin potential. Detta är tydligt i alla benchmarks. Även om LG Grams resultat inte kan anses vara dåliga är resultaten ändå något lägre än CPU:ns genomsnitt. Vår recensionsmodell slår dock lätt de andra två LG Gram 17:orna i vår jämförelse head-to-head. Å ena sidan är Core i7 i sig kraftfullare än de i5-processorer som finns i de andra två bärbara LG-datorerna, men å andra sidan har recensionsenheten en något högre PL1.

De kraftiga nedgångarna i processorns prestanda i kylningsläget "Low" är också märkbara. I kylningsläget "High" klarade processorn sju körningar i Cinebench R23 Loop inom 11 minuter. I det tysta läget loggades endast tre körningar efter 11 minuter. Med andra ord sjönk prestandan med mer än 50 %.
