Recension av Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 G1 OLED - Bärbar kontorslaptop med AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 6860Z

Är det fortfarande en ThinkPad? Lenovos nya AMD ThinkPad Z13 har en exklusiv AMD-processor och den avancerade versionen har också en OLED-skärm och ett konstläderlock med bronsfärgade accenter. Det ser snyggt ut, men är det fortfarande en "kontorslaptop"?

Med ThinkPad Z-serien har Lenovo sedan flera månader tillbaka en särskild produktlinje för sina AMD-modeller. Vi har redan utförligt testat instegsmodellen ThinkPad Z13 med en Ryzen 5 Pro och en normal Full HD IPS-panel. Den helt nya designen erbjuder en del nya tillvägagångssätt och långvariga ThinkPad-användare måste vänja sig vid vissa förändringar (TrackPoint utan dedikerade tangenter, gångjärnet öppnas endast upp till 135 grader, omplacering av Fn-tangenten, inget Kensington-lås).

Idag tar vi en titt på den avancerade modellen av ThinkPad Z13 med dess AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 6860Z som erbjuds exklusivt i ThinkPad Z13. Den här konfigurationen har en OLED-skärm, en LTE-modul och en speciell design med ett skärmlock i läderimitation med bronsfärgade höjdpunkter. I den här rapporten fokuserar vi främst på skillnaderna till instegsmodellen och kommer inte att gå igenom deras likheter. Fallet är i princip identiskt med det instegsmodellen av ThinkPad Z13, men i den avancerade versionen finns ett skärmlock med en svart läderimitation med bronsfärgade detaljer. Det är utan tvekan en fråga om personlig smak och Lenovo erbjuder visserligen alternativ, men jämförelsen med en handväska är svår att undvika. Huruvida den nuvarande Z13 har blivit mer av ett modeobjekt eller om den visuellt fortfarande passar in i en affärsmiljö är en fråga om personligt val. Ur ett kvalitetsperspektiv är det dock inget fel på fodralet och ThinkPad Z13 är verkligen av ytterst hög kvalitet.

Anslutning - Z13 med Wi-Fi 6E och LTE

Vår recensionsenhet var utrustad med en Wi-Fi 6E-modul (Qualcomm WCN685x) och vi kunde enkelt ansluta till 6 GHz-nätverket på vår referensrouter från Asus. Överföringshastigheterna i testet var mycket höga och dessutom stabila. En WWAN-modul från Quectel var också installerad i testenheten, som endast stöder LTE Cat.4. Förutom ett eSIM kan ett nano-SIM-kort också sättas in i högerkanten. Vi kunde använda ett SIM-kort från Telekom (Tyskland) i LTE-nätet utan problem. En 5G-modul är dock inte tillgänglig.

Skärm - 2.8K OLED pekskärm

Vår testenhet använder den valfria 13,3-tums OLED-pekskärmen med en upplösning på 2 880 x 1 800 pixlar. Subjektivt sett gör bilden av den reflekterande panelen i princip ett bra intryck. Innehållet visas mycket skarpt och färgerna är mycket starka. Vid starkt innehåll syns dock en rutnätseffekt (moiré-effekt) och kräver att man sitter relativt nära skärmen. Windows använder sitt mörka färgläge som standard för att spara ström, så i praktiken märks inte effekten.

Lenovo annonserar en ljusstyrka på 400 cd/m², varvid man här (som vanligt med OLED-paneler) måste skilja mellan SDR- och HDR-innehåll. I normalt SDR-läge fastställde vi en ljusstyrka på cirka 380 cd/m² och tillsammans med den extremt låga svartnivån erhålls ett extremt högt kontrastförhållande. I HDR-läget (som måste aktiveras manuellt) når den maximalt 582 cd/m² för små bilddelar och cirka 470 cd/m² för en nästan helt ljusstark bild. Betraktningsvinkelstabiliteten är mycket god och responstiderna är extremt snabba. Det finns inga halos på OLED-paneler.

Vår analys med hjälp av professionell CalMAN-programvara (X-Rite i1 Pro 2) visar att OLED-skärmen i levererat skick redan är korrekt kalibrerad. Det finns ett minimalt färgstick i äkta rött i kombination med en färgtemperatur som är något för varm. Display Response Times

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

The display backlight flickers at 240 Hz (Likely utilizing PWM) Flickering detected at a brightness setting of 50 % (86 cd/m²) and below. There should be no flickering or PWM above this brightness setting.

The frequency of 240 Hz is relatively low, so sensitive users will likely notice flickering and experience eyestrain at the stated brightness setting and below.

Flickering occurs at relatively low brightness settings, so extended use at this brightness setting or lower can cause eyestrain.

In comparison: 53 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 19625 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 3846000) Hz was measured.

I intervallet 51-90 % ljusstyrka används DC-dimning med en frekvens på 60 Hz, men eftersom amplituden är mycket låg här borde det inte vara något problem. Från och med en ljusstyrka på 50 % (~86 cd/m²) och mindre kan vi upptäcka det välkända PWM-flimmerandet vid 240 Hz. Lenovo erbjuder ingen mjukvarulösning som Asus Zenbook S 13 för att möjliggöra DC-dimning även vid lägre ljusstyrkor.

Reflektioner är förstås ett problem på den reflekterande skärmen när de uppstår, men så länge du kan undvika dem kan skärminnehållet läsas ordentligt utomhus tack vare det extremt höga kontrastförhållandet även under ljusa dagar.

Provningsvillkor

Förutom de normala prestandainställningarna i Windows erbjuder AMD ThinkPad intelligent kylning, som kan avaktiveras med tangentkombinationen Fn+T. I våra tester med Ryzen 7 Pro fick vi något bättre resultat när funktionen var aktiverad. I princip tilldelas processorn 51 watt under en kortare period för att sedan sjunka ner till 27 watt.

Processor

Lenovo utrustar toppmodellen av ThinkPad Z13 med en AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 6860Z, som är exklusiv för denna modell. Mycket lite dokumentation om justeringar för detta chip finns tillgänglig och även efter vårt test är vi inte mycket klokare. I princip är det en vanlig Ryzen 7 Pro 6850U (som också finns tillgänglig för Z13), bara den maximala boostklockan är satt 50 MHz högre på 4,75 GHz. Båda Ryzen 7 Pro-modellerna kan konfigureras med upp till 32 GB RAM-minne.

CPU-prestandan är mycket bra, särskilt under de första minuterna, eftersom strömförbrukningen inte sjunker omedelbart. Vid permanent belastning är Ryzen 7 Pro 6860Z dock på samma nivå som Ryzen 7 Pro 6850U och även konsumenten Ryzen 7 6800U, om de drivs med samma/samma TDP (i allmänhet 25 watt). Ryzen 5 Pro 6650U i ThinkPad Z13 är 19 % långsammare i genomsnitt i alla våra CPU-jämförelser.
