The XPS 16 is for people who want a powerful Windows laptop but also care deeply about design, portability and the overall experience. It is not just a machine built to deliver performance numbers, it is a laptop designed to make everyday computing feel smart and premium. So, who should look elsewhere? Hardcore gamers, for starters. While Intel Arc graphics are more capable than many people might expect, this is not a gaming-first machine. Budget-conscious buyers may also want to explore other options. The XPS 16 is unapologetically premium, and its price reflects that. For everyone else, though, the XPS 16 makes a compelling case for itself. It proves that Windows hardware can match Apple when it comes to design, build quality, display quality and overall day-to-day experience. The gorgeous OLED screen, excellent speakers, refined design and strong performance all come together to create one of the most complete Windows laptops I have used recently.

It's never really been in question whether or not Dell knows how to make a good laptop. There are few companies who have been in the game as long as Dell, and the firm's laptops, particularly on the high end, have usually been a high water mark for quality and features. We were pleasantly satisfied with last year's Premium machines, but the return of the XPS brand has come along with a truly excellent machine that achieves every goal it sets out to reach. We were elated with the XPS 14 earlier this year, and we're extremely happy with the XPS 16 as well. My only complaints with the machine are the relatively meager external I/O (which is a trend in premium thin & light systems like this) and the inefficient use of space for the keyboard.

With the XPS 16, Dell seemingly has two objectives: re-establishing the XPS brand, which it shuttered last year before bringing it back at CES in January, and positioning it between heavier, pricier, but more powerful content creation laptops such as the Asus ProArt P16, Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16 Aura Edition and Apple's 16-inch MacBook Pro and cheaper, thinner and lighter 16-inch models like the Asus Zenbook A16 and Acer Swift 16 AI. I'd say Dell succeeded on the first mission: the XPS 16 is a fantastic laptop befitting of the premium XPS name. Like the smaller XPS 14 I reviewed, it has sleek looks and a solid feel at a reasonable weight, as well as an optional OLED display that's worth the upgrade.

I mean, I can’t be any quicker than this. If you’re looking over the top of your MacBook Pro at the Windows laptop world with any sort of interest in buying in. The 2026 Dell XPS 16 is absolutely the best Windows ultrabook with svelte looks and big muscles to go head-to-head with the MacBook Pro.

The Dell XPS 16 has a few things going for it. Its display and audio are excellent, and when paired with its design, it’s really a pleasure of a laptop to behold. But that’s where the fun ends. Even though the XPS 16 is powerful, it’s not impressively so and often fails to outpace contemporaries and even prior models. Its opting for integrated graphics helps save some weight and boost efficiency, but comes with a clear hit to graphics performance over discrete options. All this makes for a performance profile better suited to more standard office and productivity use cases, but the hardware itself just doesn’t feel so great to use and lacks helpful utility items like a number pad, USB-A, and HDMI ports. Ultimately, the XPS 16 sticks to its heritage as part quality laptop and part status symbol.

“Bigger is better” might be a cliched saying, but it’s appropriate when discussing the new Dell XPS 16. You get the same vivid display, fast performance, and enduring battery life as the 14-inch model, only in a larger form factor. And like that laptop, this XPS is a triumphant return to form for the legendary brand. If you absolutely need an SD card slot reader or would prefer staying in the Apple ecosystem, the 16-inch M5 MacBook Pro with the M5 Pro is a solid alternative. However, if those things aren’t important, the Dell XPS 16 is hard to top. Right now, this is arguably the Windows laptop to beat.

Dell:

De här grafikkorten bör klara av alla nuvarande spel med acceptabel bildfrekvens, men inte nödvändigtvis med höga inställningar. Särskilt krävande spel kanske bara fungerar med låga inställningar. Till skillnad från prestandakorten hittar man däremot de här grafikkorten i bärbara datorer av lite mindre format med bättre batteritid.
