While still far away from where Apple’s iPads stand in the market, there are quite a few very good Android tablets in the market. Xiaomi is one brand that has brought pretty decent tablets to India. Starting with their first tablet in the market, Xiaomi has consistently offered a very good value for money, leading up till the last device in the market, the Xiaomi Pad 6.

The Redmi Pad Pro 5G has some tough competition in the market. You get the Honor Pad 9 and the OnePlus Pad Go in the similar budget. Both the tablets are equally capable. However, even with some minor imperfections, the Redmi Pad Pro 5G can give a tough fight to its competition. The device offers a decent performance and the ability to multitask without any lags. At an effective price of Rs 22,999, you get a large smooth display, impressive battery backup, 5G connectivity and fantastic performance. Xiaomi has also announced some bundle offers, wherein you can get the Redmi Pad Pro with Redmi Pad Pro Cover (not the keyboard) at a starting price of Rs 21,498. If you get the Redmi Pad Pro with just the Redmi Smart Pen then it will cost you Rs 25,497. And if you bundle it with the Redmi Keyboard and the Smart Pen, you can get it at a starting price of Rs 27,997.

The Redmi Pad Pro is an excellent tablet for its €299 price point. It offers a lovely metal unibody, an excellent 12.1-inch Dolby Vision screen, four Dolby Atmos speakers, and very solid performance. You can even expand the Redmi Pad Pro capabilities by opting for the proprietary Keyboard or Smart Pen, which can add a productivity dimension to what is otherwise a media-consumption device. However, once you start piling on the extra costs for those the differences to more premium offerings diminishes so it's probably wiser to not go there. The same applies to getting the 5G version - sharing your smartphone's data connection makes so much more sense than getting a second plan specifically for a mid-range tablet. Sure, the rear camera is poor, and not having a charger was a bitter welcome, but overall, the Redmi Pad Pro managed to impress us with its performance. And we do recommend putting it on your shortlist if you are on the lookout for a budget tablet.

The Redmi Pad Pro shares a lot of features with the Xiaomi Pad 6, but it is much more accessible. You get a massive 12.1-inch LCD panel with good colors and HDR integration and 120Hz refresh, and it is ideally suited for entertainment.
