Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Ja, Nokia 8.3 5G har ett för högt utgångspris med tanke på vilka alternativ som finns: För samma pengar erbjuder OnePlus 8T mycket högre styrka och snabbare laddning samt mer lagring som tillval. Det går till och med att köpa en iPhone 11 för det priset. Tyvärr märks det att det tog lite för lång tid för telefonen att ta sig till marknaden; funktionsmässigt känns den som en telefon från förra året.

Nokia 8.3 5G är ganska dyr och erbjuder ganska lite jämfört med alternativen. Trots det kan den nog hitta sin nisch.

Men däremot efter att den blivit betydligt billigare kan Nokia 8.3 5G erbjuda några intressanta egenskaper som inte alltid finns på enheter från toppskiktet eller det övre mittenskiktet nuförtiden.

En 3.5 mm ljudanslutning är ett exempel. Har du problem med PWM-flimmer kommer du gilla IPS-skärmen och stöd för microSD-kort är också ganska sällsynt på dyrare enheter. Den fysiska fingeravtrycksläsaren är också en intressant funktion, även om de skärmintegrerade lösningarna de flesta andra enheter har fungerar bra nuförtiden.

På så sätt innehar Nokia 8.3 5G en nisch för fans av särskilda funktioner som idag är sällsynta på andra smartphones. Med ett lyxigt utseende och bra batteritid passar den perfekt i den nischen.
