Recension av Asus TUF Dash F15 FX517ZR - Bärbar dator med Mobile RTX 3070 och acceptabel batteritid

Utbytt. Asus TUF F15 är en bärbar spellaptop med QHD-skärm i övre mellanklassen med en välavrundad konfiguration: Core i7-12650H, GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop, 16 GB RAM och 1 TB SSD. Den matta QHD-skärmen täcker färgomfånget DCI-P3 nästan helt och hållet. Alder Lake-processorns E-kärnor kan avaktiveras.

Asus strävar inte efter maximal prestanda i FX517ZR, utan fokuserar istället på kompakta mått och låg vikt. Detta kräver en lämplig konfiguration: Core-i7-12650H processorn och denGeForce RTX 3070 Bärbar dator GPU (TGP: 105 watt) är solid hårdvara som hör till det övre mellansegmentet, men de hör inte till de bästa. Den bärbara datorn på 2 kg konkurrerar med konceptuellt jämförbara bärbara datorer som t.ex Razer Blade 15 basmodelloch MSI Delta 15. Hölje - Den bärbara speldatorn väger endast 2 kg

F15-chassit har inga iögonfallande färger, med undantag för den lilla röda foten på enhetens undersida. I övrigt dominerar matt svart (lock, topplock) och matt grått (bottenlock). För höljet använder Asus en materialblandning av plast (basenheten) och aluminium (baksidan av locket). Batteriet är fast inbyggt i enheten (skruvat, inte limmat). Du kan komma åt de inre delarna efter att ha tagit bort det nedre locket.

Den bärbara datorn avslöjar inga brister i tillverkningen. Spaltmåtten är korrekta och inga materialutsprång kan hittas. Basenheten och locket kan vridas lite - men helheten håller sig ändå inom ramarna. Gångjärnen håller locket stadigt på plats, medan den maximala öppningsvinkeln är cirka 130 grader. Det är möjligt att öppna locket med en hand.

MSI Delta 15och den bärbara datorn från Asus är de lättaste enheterna i jämförelsefältet. Razer Blade 15 ligger före när det gäller dimensioner: Det är den mest kompakta bärbara datorn

Anslutningsmöjligheter - FX517 har Thunderbolt 4

TUF har två USB-A-portar (USB 3.2 Gen 1) och två USB-C-portar (1x Thunderbolt 4, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2). De sistnämnda har stöd för DisplayPort via USB-C, medan endast USB 3.2 Gen 2-porten erbjuder Power Delivery. Den bärbara datorn har totalt tre videoutgångar (2x DP, 1x HDMI). Dessutom finns det ett kombinerat ljuduttag, en Gigabit Ethernet-port och en plats för ett kabellås. Asus-datorn har ingen minneskortläsare.

Placeringen av portarna är inte optimal. Asus klämmer in nästan alla portar i det främre området på fodralets vänstra sida. En eller två portar borde ha placerats på väskans högra sida här.

Underhåll

Den bärbara datorns insida är tillgänglig efter att du tagit bort det nedre locket. När alla skruvar på enhetens undersida har lossats kan bottenlockets fästanordningar avlägsnas med hjälp av en platt spatel. Men var försiktig: Fästena sitter ganska hårt. Du kan sedan komma åt SSD-enheten (PCIe 3, M.2 2280), den andra SSD-platsen (M.2 2280), Wi-Fi-modulen, batteriet, RAM-minnet, högtalarna och fläktarna

Inmatningsenheter - TUF Dash med monokrom bakgrundsbelysning

Tangentbord

F15:s tangentbord består till största delen av konkava tangenter. Några få tangenter (t.ex. Enter, Shift) är platta. De erbjuder alla en medelhög slaglängd och en tydlig tryckpunkt. När det gäller tangentlayouten kan den inte nödvändigtvis beskrivas som optimal: De små piltangenterna och den enradiga "Enter"-tangenten är värda att nämna. Det motstånd som tangenterna ger är acceptabelt. Tangentbordet vinglar lite under skrivandet. Detta visade sig dock inte vara irriterande. Bakgrundsbelysningen i tre steg (monokrom, vit) styrs via två funktionstangenter. På det hela taget levererar Asus här ett tangentbord som lämpar sig för daglig användning

Pekplatta

En multitouch-kapabel ClickPad (ca 13 x 7,7 cm) ersätter musen. Den släta ytan gör det lätt för fingrarna att glida på den. Den reagerar också på inmatningar i hörnen. Padden har en kort resväg och en tydlig tryckpunkt

Skärm - Responsiv, men för svag

Medan den matta 15,6-tumsskärmens (2 560x1 440 pixlar) kontrast (1 144:1) uppfyller målet (> 1 000:1) är den maximala ljusstyrkan (266,2 cd/m²) för låg. Vi anser att värden över 300 cd/m² är bra. Panelen med 165 Hz ger snabba svarstider. PWM-flimmer kunde inte upptäckas.

Skärmen har stöd för AdaptiveSync-tekniken. Detta innebär att uppdateringsfrekvensen för skärmen och GPU:n dynamiskt justeras i förhållande till varandra. Syftet är att skapa en så jämn bild som möjligt - särskilt i datorspel.

Skärmen har en bra färgåtergivning direkt från förpackningen. Målet (DeltaE < 3) uppfylls med ett värde på 2,14. Denna mindre färgavvikelse är inte märkbar för tittarna. Kalibrering medför betydande förbättringar: Gråskalen visas på ett mer balanserat sätt och färgavvikelsen sjunker till 0,67. Skärmen kan återge sRGB- (99,9 %) och DCI-P3-färgrymden (98 %) nästan helt och hållet, medan AdobeRGB-färgrymden återges till 86 %.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Provningsvillkor

Den bärbara datorn har tre tillverkarspecifika prestandaprofiler ("Quiet", "Balanced", "Turbo"), som du kan växla mellan med tangentkombinationen "Fn" + "F5". Profilen "Turbo" kan endast användas när enheten är inkopplad. Batteritesterna utfördes med profilen "Quiet" och benchmarks kördes med profilen "Balanced" (ofta även kallad "Performance" beroende på version eller uppdateringsstatus)

Den bärbara datorns förinstallerade huvudkontrollcentral ("Armoury Crate") gör det möjligt för användaren att skapa egna profiler ("Manual"). Core-i7-12650H (Alder Lake) består av sex prestandakärnor (Hyper-Treading, 2,3-4,7 GHz) och fyra effektivitetskärnor (ingen Hyper-Threading, 1,7-3,5 GHz). Detta resulterar i totalt 16 logiska CPU-kärnor

Prestanda-profilen "Balanserad" ger hastigheter som ligger längst fram i Turbo-området under CB15-multitrådstestet (P-kärnor: 3,6 till 3,7 GHz, E-kärnor: 3 till 3,1 GHz). Testet med en enda tråd bearbetas vid höga klockfrekvenser (P-cores: 4,1 till 4,6 GHz, E-cores: 3,5 GHz). På batteridrift ligger klockfrekvenserna för en tråd (P-cores: 3,2 till 4,5 GHz, E-cores: 3 till 3,5 GHz) på samma nivå, medan klockfrekvenserna för flera trådar (P-cores: 2,7 GHz, E-cores: 2,4) är lägre.

Den bärbara datorn gör det möjligt att helt avaktivera E-cores (mer om det senare). Av denna anledning körde vi också några benchmarks i detta tillstånd. Resultaten finns i jämförelsetabellerna.

Vi kontrollerar om CPU Turbo används konsekvent när den är inkopplad genom att köra Cinebench R15-jämförelsetestet med flera trådar i en slinga. Höga klockfrekvenser kan bibehållas under längre tidsperioder. Profilen "Turbo" säkerställer en jämnare prestandautveckling på en något högre nivå.

Asus har beviljat den inbyggdaGeForce RTX 3070 bärbar datorgPU en maximal TGP på 105 watt (80 watt + 25 watt Dynamic Boost). GPU:n har tillgång till snabbt GDDR6-grafikminne (8 192 MB).

En TGP i den nedre delen av gränserna ger inte maximal prestanda: Resultaten från benchmarken ligger under (Optimus-läge) det RTX 3070-genomsnitt som hittills fastställts, eller strax över det (dGPU-läge). TGP utnyttjas fullt ut vid direkt bildutgång via GeForce GPU - detta kan ses i vårt test The Witcher 3.

DRM-problem när du spelar spel? Inaktivera E-kärnorna

När Alder Lake-plattformen lanserades blev problem med DRM-mekanismerna för olika spel kända: DRM-programvaran kunde känna igen CPU:ns E-kärnor som ett annat system och vägra att starta spelet som en följd av detta. Vid det här laget bör dessa problem ha åtgärdats i stor utsträckning genom olika uppdateringar.

Om det senare inte är fallet för ett visst spel erbjuder Asus bärbara dator en lösning: Att inte använda E-kärnorna. Detta uppnås genom att klicka på knappen "Legacy DRM Compatibility" i Armoury Crate. Kärnorna förblir aktiva, men de används inte.

Enhetens BIOS erbjuder ett annat alternativ: En fullständig avaktivering av E-kärnorna. Allt mellan 0 och 4 kärnor kan väljas här. Om alla E-kärnor är inaktiverade försvinner knappen "Legacy Device DRM Compatibility" från Armoury Crate-programvaran.

Hårdvaran kan hantera QHD-spel med höga till maximala inställningar. Bildfrekvensen ligger under RTX 3070-genomsnittet. En direkt bildutgång via GeForce GPU leder till högre hastigheter

Utsläpp - FX517Z genererar inte alltför mycket buller

Bullerutsläpp

De två fläktarna avger endast ett litet ljud vid daglig användning (kontor, Internet). De står till och med stilla ibland. Det blir dock ganska högljutt vid full belastning med maximala ljudtrycksnivåer på 49 dB(A) (stresstest) respektive 47 dB(A) (vårt The Witcher 3 -test ). Med det sagt ligger FX517 fortfarande under värdena hos de flesta konkurrenter. På det hela taget är det buller som genereras uthärdligt. Bullerutvecklingen under belastning kan minskas genom att använda profilen "Quiet" - på bekostnad av prestanda.

Batteriets livslängd

15,6-tummaren uppnår en körtid på 6:57 timmar respektive 5:46 timmar i Wi-Fi-testet (åtkomst till webbplatser via ett skript) och videotestet (kortfilmen Big Buck Bunny (H.264-kodning, Full HD) som körs i en loop). Den bärbara datorns energisparfunktioner är inaktiverade under båda testerna och skärmens ljusstyrka är inställd på cirka 150 cd/m². Dessutom är de trådlösa modulerna inaktiverade under videotestet.

På det hela taget levererar den bärbara datorn acceptabla körtider, men den ligger efter de mycket goda hastigheterna hos föregångaren, som har samma batterikapacitet. Orsakerna till detta kan snabbt identifieras: FX517 har en Alder Lake-processor som generellt sett är strömkrävande på grund av sina sex extra CPU-kärnor, liksom QHD-skärmen.

Asus TUF Dash F15 är gjord för högpresterande applikationer som videoredigering, rendering och spel. Den bärbara datorn klarar det sistnämnda i QHD-upplösning och vid höga till maximala inställningar. Fokus ligger dock inte på maximal prestanda, utan det handlar istället om en kompromiss mellan prestanda och bärbarhet

Asus TUF Dash F15 FX517ZR är en lätt och portabel spellaptop. Enheten är inte utformad för maximal prestanda.

Core i7-12650HochGeForce RTX 3070 är solida hårdvarukomponenter i övre mellanklassen och de kan arbeta med konstant höga klockfrekvenser. GPU-prestandahastigheterna ligger i bästa fall på genomsnittet för alla bärbara RTX 3070-datorer som testats hittills (dGPU-läge) - detta beror på den relativt låga TGP på 105 watt.

Den bärbara datorn väger cirka 2 kg; den får verkliga körtider på 6-7 timmar ur sitt 76 Wh-batteri - mycket respektabla, men inte fantastiska hastigheter. Bra: Batteriet kan laddas med en universell USB-C-strömadapter (minst 45 watt, 20 volt). Det innebär att den 200-watts nätadaptern inte nödvändigtvis behöver bäras runt.

Den matta QHD-skärmen (15,6 tum, IPS, 165 Hz) gjorde ett bra intryck för det mesta. Det är bara ljusstyrkan som är för låg. En Thunderbolt 4-port öppnar upp för expansionsmöjligheter i form av en dockningslösning eller en extern GPU.

Ett alternativ till F15 skulle vara MSI Delta 15. Dess vikt, kompakthet och prestandanivå ligger ungefär på samma nivå som den bärbara datorn från Asus, men MSI-modellen erbjuder en något bättre batteritid. Svagheterna: Det finns ingen Thunderbolt-port och underhållsalternativen är inte övertygande.

I skrivande stund är den dominerande konfigurationen av Asus TUF Dash F15 i USA utrustad med Core i7-12650H och GeForce RTX 3070, stöds av 16 GB DDR5 RAM, 512 GB SSD-lagring och en 15,6-tums Full HD 144 Hz-skärm. Du kan hitta den här modellen på Best Buy's onlinebutik för 1 499 dollar. När vi publicerade vår recension hade Best Buy den för 1 299 dollar (200 dollar i rabatt).
