With the price of the new Razr 70 Ultra increasing to £1,199 (the Razr 60 Ultra was available from £999), you’re paying a lot for a phone with not a lot of support and not a lot of changes. But with that said, Motorola sets a high bar with the Razr 70 Ultra: it’s still pretty powerful, the battery expansion is welcomed and the new camera sensor has promise. The design is great (if a little thick), but I can’t fault the appeal of Motorola’s colours and materials. But in sticking to a familiar path, the Razr 70 Ultra hands Samsung an opportunity with the forthcoming Galaxy Z Flip 8, which could be thinner, lighter, cheaper, and offer better software support – but with a smaller battery, slower charging and without the fun colours and finishes. Could the more affordable, and still eye-catching Razr 70 and Razr 70 Plus prove to be more popular this year? Check back in soon for our full reviews to find out.

Since we haven’t fully assessed the Razr’s performance, we can’t offer definitive buying advice just yet. Even so, we have a few pointers for you if you’re queueing up to preorder a Razr. If you use your phone outside a lot, the Razr Fold has a brighter screen, which should make it easier to use in the sun. If ecosystem is important, Samsung’s galaxy of connected devices (TVs, PCs, fridges) is broader than Motorola’s and may better suit your inter-device connectivity needs.Those who prioritize battery life may want to consider the Razr. Motorola has long surpassed its rivals in delivering great battery life, and the Razr's larger battery has the potential to outlast the Z Flip. If you like smaller phones, the Z Flip 7 is the most compact.

The Motorola Razr 70 Ultra is also known as Motorola Razr Ultra 2026, which is a clamshell foldable that feels surprisingly light at just 199 grams. When closed, it measures a compact 88.1 x 74 x 15.7 mm, slipping easily into a pocket, but open it up to reveal a stunning 7.0-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED screen. This main display is a tech lover’s dream, pumping out 1 billion colors, a buttery smooth 165Hz refresh rate, and an eye searing peak brightness of 5000 nits for perfect outdoor visibility. It supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+, so movies and games look incredible. But the real star is the large 4-inch external cover display (also LTPO AMOLED, 165Hz, and 3000 nits peak), which lets you reply to messages, take calls, and even use apps without ever opening the phone.

The brand that first made the flip phone a must-have in 2004 has spent the past six years resurrecting the Razr for a new generation – and it’s finally paying off. Motorola bit off a 44 percent share of the foldable market in North America last year, stealing 15% from Samsung based on flip phones alone. This week, Motorola brought a bunch of media (including MrMobile) to Los Angeles for an early look at the 2026 Razr models meant to secure that growth. Despite rumors of precious few upgrades, it was an exciting prospect for someone who's carried the prior model almost continuously for the past eleven months. Motorola:

En del nyare spel kan spelas med de här grafikkorten, men bara om de är mindre krävande. De har ändå tillräcklig kapacitet för kontorsbruk och film (möjligen högupplöst). Är grafikkretsen dessutom integrerad kan batteritiden vara utmärkt.

ARM Mali-G615 MP2: Mellanklassgrafikchip för smartphones med 2 av 6 möjliga kärnor. Baserat på den fjärde generationen av Valhall-arkitekturen. Erbjuder skuggning med variabel hastighet.

Det här är mindre avancerade grafikkort för användare som ändå vill kunna spela spel. Nya spel bör vara spelbara, men ofta bara med låga detaljinställningar och låg upplösning. Eftersom moderna grafikkort i den här klassen har låg strömförbrukning kan även batteritiden vara bra.

Qualcomm Adreno 830: Integrerad grafikenhet i Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC för smartphones med tre skivor med 1,1 GHz vardera. Integrerad 12 MB delad cache för de tre skivorna. Enligt Qualcomm 40% snabbare än föregående generation (Adreno 750).

Dimensity 7450X: Dimensity 7450X är en mellanklassprocessor med ett integrerat 5G-modem. CPU-delen integrerar fyra ARM Cortex-A78-kärnor med upp till 2,6 GHz och fyra Cortex-A55 power-kärnor med upp till 2 GHz. Jämfört med den äldre 7400X erbjuder 7450X upp till 7% högre AI-prestanda.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8:

SD 8 Elite: High-end SoC (System on a Chip) för smartphones som presenterades i slutet av 2024. Det integrerar två snabba Oryon Gen 2 Prime-kärnor med upp till 4,32 GHz och 6 mindre Oryon Gen 2 Performance-kärnor med upp till 3,53 GHz.
