Recension av Huawei MateBook 14 2021 - Subnotebook med nedgraderad CPU

Liten uppdatering med Ryzen 5000. Huawei erbjuder nu en uppdaterad version av MateBook 14 med en AMD Ryzen 5000-processor, men det är inte längre en 8-kärnig processor. Är denna kompakta subnotebook med AMD-hårdvara ändå bättre än versionen med Tiger Lake Core i7-1165G7?

Vi är bekanta med Huaweis MateBook 14 sedan ett par år tillbaka och den nuvarande 2021-modellen finns också tillgänglig med AMDRyzen 5 5500Uprocessor. Vår recensionsenhet är versionen med 16 GB RAM, 512 GB PCIe SSD-lagring och den glansiga 3:2 IPS-skärmen utan pekfunktion. Fungerar den gamla designen fortfarande år 2022 och hur står sig AMD-modellen mot den något dyrare (~1100 euro) Intel Tiger Lake-U-versionen? (För närvarande också under granskning)

Hölje och anslutningsmöjligheter

Det mörkgrå aluminiumchassit är oförändrat jämfört med den tidigare modeller och vi kan inte hitta några förändringar. Detta innebär fortfarande att du får bra kvalitet och det finns definitivt fördelar jämfört med andra enheter i den här prisklassen. Det finns egentligen ingen större skillnad mot dyrare bärbara datorer från Huawei som t.ex.MateBook X Proeller den nyareMateBook 14s, inte heller. Stabiliteten är också mycket bra och den övergripande designen ser fortfarande mycket modern ut tack vare smala ramar. Det är enkelt att ta bort bottenskyddet (som säkras med T5-skruvar) och du får tillgång till M.2-SSD, Wi-Fi-modulen samt fläktarna för rengöring

Placeringen av webbkameran, som är gömd inuti tangentbordet, visar tydligt att det är en "gammal" design, medan nyare modeller som MateBook 14s har webbkameran ovanför skärmen. Kvaliteten på 1 MP-enheten är inte särskilt bra och det finns synliga förvrängningar på grund av placeringen. Vinkeln underifrån är inte heller särskilt gynnsam vid möten. Lösningen är dock utan tvekan bra när det gäller integritetsfrågor

Både AMD- och Intel-SKU:erna erbjuder endast det nödvändigaste när det gäller portar med 1x USB-C (som även används för laddning) samt två vanliga USB-A-portar. Externa skärmar kan anslutas via HDMI, men det finns ingen SD-kortläsare

Huawei sparar också pengar när det gäller wifi-modulen. Medan Intel SKU:n använder en modern Wi-Fi 6-modul har AMD-versionen endast stöd för Wi-Fi 5. Överföringshastigheterna i vårt standardiserade test med routern Netgear Nighthawk AX12 är okej, men konkurrensen är märkbart snabbare.

Inmatningsenheter - MateBook med belyst tangentbord

MateBook 14:s svarta tangentbord har inte heller ändrats och har fortfarande en vit belysning i två steg. Det finns ett alternativ för den automatiska avaktiveringen när du inte använder tangentbordet, vilket bekvämt kan justeras via Huaweis PC Manager. Själva skrivupplevelsen är fortfarande genomsnittlig. Tangentstrecken är exakta, men tangenternas rörlighet är inte särskilt generös med lite mer än 1 mm. Det finns bättre tangentbord där ute, men du kan ändå använda MateBook 14 för längre texter utan begränsningar. Klickplattan är lätt att använda och även gester med upp till fyra fingrar fungerar riktigt bra.

MateBook 14 är alltid utrustad med en 14-tums IPS-skärm med ett bildförhållande på 3:2, men det finns modeller med och utan pekstöd. Vår recensionsenhet erbjuder ingen pekskärm, men ytan är fortfarande blank. Upplösningen är hög (2160 x 1440 pixlar, 185 ppi) och det övergripande bildintrycket är mycket bra

Själva panelen levereras av BOE (samma panel för touch och utan touch), men måtten är bättre för vår modell utan touch. Vi fastställer en genomsnittlig ljusstyrka på cirka 450 nits i kombination med ett lågt svartvärde på 0,26, vilket resulterar i ett utmärkt kontrastförhållande på mer än 1700:1. Panelen har vissa problem med att bakgrundsbelysningen blöder längs kanterna när panelens ljusstyrka är hög, vilket också märks när du tittar på videor (där svarta staplar är vanliga på grund av bildförhållandet). Det finns inget PWM-flimmer och svarstiderna är okej.

Vi analyserade skärmen med den professionella CalMAN-programvaran (i1 Pro 2 spektrofotometer) och bildkvaliteten är mycket bra redan från början. Både DeltaE-2000-avvikelserna för gråskalan och färgerna (jämfört med sRGB-referensen) ligger inom målintervallet. Det finns ett litet färgutslag mot grönt/blått i gråskalan och färgtemperaturen är lite låg, men detta syns knappast med blotta ögat. Vi försökte kalibrera panelen flera gånger, men vi lyckades inte förbättra bildkvaliteten. Det lilla sRGB-omfånget täcks nästan helt och hållet.

Display Response Times

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

In comparison: 52 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 21940 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 3846000) Hz was measured.

Den blanka skärmen är mycket reflekterande, vilket kan vara en utmaning utomhus och du måste definitivt hitta en bra plats för att undvika reflektioner. Det finns dock ingen kritik för IPS-panelens betraktningsvinkelstabilitet.

Översikt av inställningar

Huaweis PC Manager erbjuder ett valfritt prestandaläge , men det ändrar inte prestandan för vår AMD SKU. Det ökar bara den maximala fläkthastigheten under belastning, vilket också var fallet med den tidigare modellen. Följande benchmarks och mätningar utfördes med läget Balanserat och Windows-inställningen Bästa prestanda.

Processor - Ryzen 5 5500U

Huawei använder nu en AMD Ryzen 5000-processor, men medan föregångaren var utrustad med en 45W CPU från H-serien med 8 kärnor och en, är den nyaRyzen 5 5500Uär en långsammare modell från U-serien med 6 kärnor. Detta är förvånande med tanke på den identiska kylningslösningen och benchmarks bekräftar också samma 37W långsiktiga TDP. 5500U är också baserad på de äldre Zen 2-kärnorna (Lucienne), och vi tror att denRyzen 5 5600H(Zen 3) ellerRyzen 7 5800Hhade varit bättre val

Detta är också förklaringen till varför den nya modellen är långsammare än den gamla MateBook 14 med AMD H-seriens CPU i benchmarks med flera kärnor. Zen 2-chipet är lite långsammare än rivalerna i enkärniga tester, men det borde inte vara något problem i vardagliga situationer. Den nya MateBook 14 är mycket snabbare än Intel SKU:n med deni7-1165G7när man kan utnyttja alla kärnor och detsamma gäller för denCore i7-11370HiMateBook 14ssom också är långsammare med sina fyra kärnor.
