Display Response Times

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.
Screen flickering / PWM detected 350 Hz ≤ 90 % brightness setting

The display backlight flickers at 350 Hz (Likely utilizing PWM) Flickering detected at a brightness setting of 90 % and below. There should be no flickering or PWM above this brightness setting.

The frequency of 350 Hz is relatively high, so most users sensitive to PWM should not notice any flickering. However, there are reports that some users are still sensitive to PWM at 500 Hz and above, so be aware.

In comparison: 51 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 9590 (minimum: 43 - maximum: 142900) Hz was measured.

Med V330-14IKB visar Lenovo att de kan producera bärbara företagsdatorer åt företag som inte nödvändigtvis vill ha ThinkPad-märket. Hårdvaran i denna billiga laptop är skräddarsydd för kontorsbruk hos företag, vilket har både positiva och negativa konsekvenser.

En av de positiva konsekvenserna är att V330-14IKB har många företagsfunktioner och går ibland till och med om ThinkPad-modellerna i fråga om flexibilitet. Som exempel har ingen ThinkPad en UltraBay-plats och VGA finns heller inte på någon laptop med en röd TrackPoint. Den mekaniska kameraslutaren finns på ThinkPad-modeller, dock bara på de dyrare varianterna - ThinkPads i samma prisskikt som V330-14IKB har det inte. V330-14IKB är också ganska uppgraderbar (1x M.2 2280 SSD, 1x 2.5 tum SSD/HDD, 1x RAM-plats) och plasthöljet ger tillräckligt med stöd för att förhindra det skapliga tangentbordet från att böja sig för mycket (vilket ofta är ett problem på billiga bärbara datorer). V330-14IKB ger inte ifrån sig några stora mängder ljud eller värme trots att den levererar bra CPU-prestanda. Den gör allt detta till ett överkomligt pris.

Den största och avgörande anledningen till kritik mot Lenovo V330-14IKB är skärmen. Att riktigt billiga bärbara datorer fortfarande finns tillgängliga med TN-skärmar på grund av kostnaden går att förstå i teorin – men i det här fallet är TN inte ett alternativ. Alla som köper V330-14IKB påtvingas en TN-skärm eftersom Lenovo inte erbjuder en IPS-skärm som alternativ. Detta innebär att man får stå ut med dåliga betraktningsvinklar och svaga färger på grund av låg kontrast om man vill använda V330-14IKB. Det kanske är acceptabelt för en del företagskunder som bara fokuserar på inköpskostnaden, men för oss är det inte ett alternativ.

De återstående negativa egenskaperna hos V330-14IKB såsom långsam SSD-enhet, dålig placering av den vänstra USB Typ C-porten, långsam SD-kortläsare, kort batteritid och att tangentbordet saknar bakgrundsbelysning är av mindre vikt jämfört med den dåliga skärmen. Att V330-14IKB har jämförelsevis kort batteritid utan ett UltraBay-batteri förtjänar också kritik – men i det här fallet finns det åtminstone en lösning på problemet. Med ett extra UltraBay-batteri och en kombinerad kapacitet på 69 Wh skulle batteritiden troligen vara en av styrkorna med denna Lenovo-laptop.

Oavsett hur många bra egenskaper V330-14IKB har: Den dåliga TN-skärmen gör att vi inte kan rekommendera denna dator till någon.

Det är synd att Lenovo inte satte en bättre skärm i den här enheten. Vi kan helt enkelt inte rekommendera Lenovo V330-14IKB. Maskiner som Lenovo ThinkPad E480Dell Latitude 3490 och HP ProBook 440 G5 har inget UltraBay-batteri, men de har åtminstone acceptabla IPS-skärmar.
