Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Likt sitt större syskon så erbjuder ProBook 440 G5 ett bra förhållande mellan pris och prestanda. Det är synd att HP motarbetar detta utmärkta arbete genom att låta tangentbordet ge efter vid tryck.

Men låt oss först börja med dom positiva aspekterna: Vi gillar definitivt ProBook:s styrplatta, precis som CPU-prestandan som är långt framför dess konkurrent från Lenovo. ProBook kan också erbjuda ett aningen bättre utbud av portar jämfört med ThinkPad E480, då den inte bara kommer med VGA, HDMI och DisplayPort (via USB Typ-C) utan också med en kortläsare i fullstorlek. Precis som med den större ProBook kan vi berömma högtalarna så väl som enhetens expansionsmöjligheter - även om det finns ett frågetecken kring 2.5-tumsplatsen på grund av den saknade hållaren. Tyvärr slutar fördelarna här. Även om skärmen tillslut är en IPS-panel så kan vi inte riktigt hylla den på grund av dess låga ljusstyrkenivåer. Fläkten är betydligt mer högljudd och har en högre frekvens än på ProBook 450 G5. Kylsystemet och skärmen är därför inte positiva aspekter hos denna enhet.

Tangentbordet var en stor besvikelse, då det ger efter vid tryck. Detta förstör skrivupplevelsen, vilket är ett stort problem för en kontorslaptop. Vi besvärades också av hantverket kring handledsstödet på ProBook 450 G5, precis där man normalt lägger händerna. Hur bra portutbudet än är så kunde HP valt bättre platser för portarna. Särskilt för USB C-porten, som är placerad alldeles för nära fronten. Expansionsmöjligheter är bra, men möjligheterna till allmän service besviker då det är svårt att komma åt batteriet och kylfläkten. Tillslut måste vi också påpeka den korta garantin på bara ett år.

ProBook 440 G5 kunde ha varit ett bra val om det inte vore för det svaga tangentbordet.

Sammanfattningsvis kan vi inte riktigt rekommendera ProBook på grund av dess instabila tangentbord. Vi förväntar oss att tangentbordet på en kontorslaptop håller sig stadigt vid normalt skrivande, vilket inte är fallet här. Ett bra alternativ kan vara Lenovo ThinkPad E480 med en Intel-GPU, som vi för tillfället testar, eller Dell Latitude 3490 (recension kommer snart).
