Recension av LG Gram 16 (2022) Bärbar dator: Lättviktsenhet med stabilitetsproblem

Äntligen en matt skärm. LG Gram 16 i 2021 års version fick ett bra betyg av oss förra året. Som en del av 2022-uppdateringen har LG tagit itu med en av våra största kritikpunkter: den reflekterande skärmen. Ta reda på vad som är nytt i övrigt i vår detaljerade recension.
LG Gram 16

Den modell vi testade (16Z900) kostar 1 300 euro och är inte det billigaste alternativet i kontorssegmentet. Enheten är utrustad med enCore i7-1260Pfrån Intels Alder Lake-generation, 16 GB lödda DDR5 RAM-minne (5200 MHz) och en 1 TB NVMe SSD i M.2-format. Bilderna visas på en 16-tums 16:10 IPS-skärm med 1560 x 1600 pixlar som enligt uppgift täcker knappt 100 % av P3-färgrymden (till skillnad från den 15-tums model som vi testade nyligen). Operativsystem et är Windows 11 Home 64 Bit.

LG Gram 16:s konkurrenter (de flesta av dem är tyngre) är andra 16-tums bärbara datorer med Core i7-1260P, t.ex Lenovo Yoga 7 16IAP7ochDell Inspiron 16 7620, även om dessa enheter egentligen är konvertibla/2-i-1-notebooks. Vi har också inkluderat Lenovo ThinkPad T16 G1med enCore i5-1240Pi jämförelsen. Den här enhetens iGPU har endast 80 i stället för 96 EUs.

Fall

Med undantag för några mindre detaljer (kamerans form, nyckelmärkning) ser fodralet exakt likadant ut som förra årets version. Enligt LG är det tillverkat av en magnesiumlegering, vilket låter bra på pappret. I praktiken blev vi inte särskilt imponerade av materialet. Det känns och låter mer som plast för oss, och - och det här är det större problemet - är inte särskilt styvt och stabilt. Särskilt basenhetens centrum är mycket känsligt för tryck och displaylocket vrider sig lätt. Den bärbara datorn hade förmodligen gynnats av något tjockare (vilket också innebär tyngre) material.

Ingen enhet kan konkurrera med Gram 16:s låga vikt. Med sina 1,2 kg är den mycket lätt att bära med sig. Konkurrenterna väger ganska mycket mer, omkring 2,0 kg, även om detta också gör dem mer stabila. Vi är mycket nöjda med 16-tumsenhetens utseende. Tack vare de smala ramarna och den eleganta men ändå diskreta designen (Grams finns i vitt, grått eller svart, beroende på modell) kommer den bärbara datorn att se bra ut i alla scenarier. Utförandet är tillfredsställande och gångjärnen gör ett bra jobb, även om locket tenderar att glida ganska snabbt när det utsätts för vibrationer.

Anslutningsmöjligheter

Val av port

Valet av port liknar det för den gamla Gram 16. Medan den vänstra sidan har en HDMI-port (utan ytterligare specifikationer), ett ljuduttag och två moderna USB 4-portar med stöd för Tunderbolt 4, DisplayPort och Power Delivery, har den högra sidan en microSD-kortläsare, ett Kensington-lås och två klassiska USB A-portar (3.2 Gen2). Alla portar är placerade mot baksidan av enheten, vilket ger användarna gott om utrymme när de arbetar med en extern mus. Till skillnad från andra Grams är enheten inte utrustad med en USB-till-LAN-adapter.

SD-kortläsare

Kortläsarens prestanda är genomsnittlig. Den når en hastighet på 87 MB/s vid sekventiell läsning och 76 MB/s vid överföring av foton med vårt referens-SD-kort. Dessa resultat är mycket lika dem för Lenovo Yoga 7.

Kommunikation

Den nya Gram skiljer sig från sin föregångare när det gäller Wi-Fi-hastighet. LG har uppgraderat enheten från en Intel Wi-FI AX201 till en Wi-Fi AX 211. På ett avstånd av 1 m till vår nuvarande referensrouter (Asus ROG Rapture AXE11000) uppnådde den 16-tums bärbara datorn ca 1600 Mbit/s vid sändning och mottagning. Detta är ett utmärkt resultat.

Underhåll

Det skulle vara ganska komplicerat att underhålla Gram 16, eftersom alla skruvar är dolda under gummikåpor. Eftersom vi fick vår testenhet från en nätbutik snarare än från tillverkaren valde vi att inte öppna chassit.

Tangentbord

Med undantag för den magra stabiliteten gjorde tangentbordet ett gott intryck på oss. Även om layouten (liten enter-tangent med en rad på den tyska versionen, små piltangenter, nummerplatta med tre kolumner, ...) och återkopplingen/skrivandet inte är perfekt, tror vi att de flesta köpare borde vara helt nöjda med tangentbordet. Som väntat har enheten vit bakgrundsbelysning med två nivåer av ljusstyrka.

Pekplatta

Pekplattan är glädjande stor, 13 x 8 cm. Den relativt släta ytan ger goda glidegenskaper, och precisionen och stödet för gester är tillfredsställande. Den klickbara nedre delen är bekväm att använda, men skramlar något, vilket påverkar den upplevda kvaliteten.

Visa

Även om den nya skärmen har ett lägre kontrastförhållande (1144:1 i stället för 1505:1) på grund av det något högre svartvärdet (0,32 i stället för 0,22 cd/²) var vi mycket nöjdare med den matta skärmen än med föregångarens reflekterande panel.

Ljusstyrkan är något högre med 40 cd/m² (347 istället för 309 cd/m²), vilket gör Gram 16 lättare att arbeta med i ljusa miljöer, särskilt när man arbetar utomhus (även om det fortfarande finns gott om utrymme för förbättringar). Färgprecisionen har också förbättrats jämfört med föregående års modell. Även fritt fabrik ligger Delta 2000-värdet inom det ideala intervallet under 3.

Inga förbättringar gjordes när det gäller svarsfrekvenser (de är fortfarande medelmåttiga) och färgområdestäckning. Den senare var redan mycket bra förra året, med nästan 100 % täckning av sRGB/P3-färgrymden och 85 % täckning av AdobeRGB. Betraktningsvinklarna är vad man kan förvänta sig av en IPS-skärm.

Vi hoppas att nästa version kommer att vara utrustad med en ännu ljusare skärm med 400 eller till och med 500 nits och en snabbare uppdateringsfrekvens (144+ i stället för 60 Hz).

Display Response Times

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

In comparison: 53 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 19487 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 3846000) Hz was measured.

Prestanda

Gram 16:s prestanda ligger i mitten av kategorin för bärbara kontorsdatorer. 16 GB RAM och 1 TB SSD bör räcka för de flesta användare under det kommande året.

Processor

Core i7-1260P har fyra prestandakärnor med stöd för hyperthreading och åtta effektivitetskärnor utan hyperthreading. Detta innebär att chippet kan arbeta totalt 16 trådar parallellt. Gram 16 klarar sig inte särskilt bra under Cinebench-slingan, som mäter prestanda under en längre tid. Dels för att dess prestanda börjar sjunka betydligt från den andra rundan, dels för att resultaten fluktuerar kraftigt under hela testet. Detta är inte ett särskilt bra tecken för kylning eller energihantering. Kylningsläget "hög" (se diagrammet) undviker detta problem men gör också att enheten blir märkbart högre.
