Recension av Gigabyte A5 K1 - Gammaldags spellaptop

Mot bantningstrenden. Gigabyte A5 K1 presenterar sig som en klassisk spellaptop som inte lägger vikt vid ett tunt eller särskilt lätt hölje. Fokus ligger snarare på ett bra pris-prestandaförhållande, för du får en sexkärnig CPU från AMD och ett GeForce RTX 3060 med hög TGP för under 10 000 kronor.

Efter att vi redan hade testat den knappt 1 800 euro (~1788 dollar)A5 X1 med Ryzen 9 5900HX och GeForce RTX 3070har Gigabyte nu skickat oss den mycket billigare A5 K1, som också har 16 GB DDR4 RAM (2x 8 GB Dual Channel) och en 512 GB NVMe-baserad SSD, men som får nöja sig med mindre CPU- och GPU-kraft. Dock har enRyzen 5 5600H och en GeForce RTX 3060 är mycket respektabla för cirka 900 euro (~894 dollar). I den här prisklassen får du ofta bara en GeForce RTX 3050 eller 3050 Ti. Gigabyte (eller barebone-tillverkaren Clevo) använder en matt 144 Hz-panel med 1920 x 1080 pixlar för skärmen. Uppmärksamhet: Datorn levereras faktiskt bara med FreeDOS. Gigabyte var dock vänliga nog att installera Windows 11 Pro åt oss i förväg.

A5 K1:s konkurrenter är andra 15-tums spelare med GeForce RTX 3060 eller motsvarande Radeon RX 6600M som den Asus TUF Gaming F15 FX507ZM, den Lenovo Legion 5 15ACH6A och MSI Alpha 15 B5EEKsom, med undantag för Legion, är mycket dyrare. I stället för en panel från AU Optronics hade vår testkonfiguration av A5 K1 en BOE-panel ombord. Förutom belysningen (skärmen kämpar med synlig skärmblödning) kunde ljusstyrkan också vara bättre. Ett genomsnitt på 281 cd/m² kan vara tillräckligt för de flesta inomhusmiljöer, men du kommer snabbt att önska dig en högre ljusstyrka på ljusare platser som vinterträdgårdar, balkonger eller terrasser. Den dyrare brodern uppnådde fortfarande 325 cd/m² här.

Fördelen med A5 K1 är det något lägre svartvärdet (0,29 mot 0,4 cd/m²), vilket leder till en märkbart högre kontrast på papper (1 107:1 mot 838:1). Skillnaderna är dock begränsade i praktiken eftersom A5 X1 erbjuder ett större färgutrymme.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

In comparison: 52 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 19681 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 3846000) Hz was measured.

Effekt

Med en hexa-core CPU och en GPU på 6 GB ligger A5 K1 bekvämt mellan mellanklass och toppklass. 16 GB RAM-minne är inte heller dåligt för det annonserade priset.

Provningsvillkor

Bland annat kan strömläget ändras i det förinstallerade Gaming Center, som är visuellt bekant från andra Clevo barebones. Bortsett från batteritestet, som utfördes i underhållningsläget, gjordes våra mätningar med strömprofilen (inklusive automatisk inställning av fläkthastigheten). För en längre batteritid och ett lägre driftsljud rekommenderar vi energisparläget och det tysta läget, som inte riktigt lever upp till sitt namn.

Processor

Ryzen 5 5600H är ett perfekt komplement till GeForce RTX 3060. Den sexkärniga modellen från AMD:s Cezanne-generation erbjuder 16 MB L3-cache och kan bearbeta upp till 12 trådar parallellt via SMT. TDP för 7 nm-chippet är 45 watt. Även om Ryzen 5 5600H föga förvånande inte kan konkurrera med de starkare AMD-bröderna Ryzen 7 5800H och Ryzen 9 5900HX, levererar processorn en bra prestanda. I loop-testet med Cinebench R15 förblev resultatet mycket jämnt och var i nivå med Lenovo Legion 5, som också är utrustad med en 5600H.
