TUF är lika bra med 3090 Ti. Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti lanseras vid en tidpunkt då spelarna står inför en svår situation när de ska köpa. Asus TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti är en av de många partnererbjudanden för AD104 GPU:n. Nvidia hävdar att RTX 4070 Ti kan mäta sig med RTX 3090 Ti när det gäller prestanda. Testsystemet är i stort sett identiskt med det vi har använt för våra recensioner av RTX 4090 FE och RTX 4080 FE. Det inkluderar följande komponenter:

  • Thermaltake ToughPower Grand RGB 850 W
  • En ny installation av Windows 11 22H2 med de senaste patcherna användes tillsammans med den medföljande testdrivrutinen Game Ready version 527.62

Syntetiska riktmärken: Lägger sig förbi RTX 3090 Ti samtidigt som den försöker komma ikapp RX 7900 XT

Asus TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti är bättre än Asus TUF Gaming RTX 4070 TiAMD Radeon RX 7900 XTmed 16 % i Fire Strike Graphics och 10 % bakom RTX 4080 Founders Edition.

Denna skillnad mot RX 7900 XT ökar med nästan 21 % i Fire Strike Ultra och Fire Strike Extreme. Radeon RX 7900 XTXligger däremot långt före TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti med ett försprång på upp till 49 % i Fire Strike Ultra.

Time Spy I grafiken får TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti en 18-procentig försämring jämfört med RTX 4080 och cirka 11 procent sämre resultat jämfört med RX 7900 XT.

Även om TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti fortfarande ligger på efterkälken kan TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti minska klyftan till RX 7900 XT samtidigt som den generellt sett presterar i nivå med RTX 3090 Ti i olika Unigine-tester. Föga förvånande är RTX 4090 FE suverän i Unigine Superposition vid 4K-optimerade och 8K-optimerade inställningar.

Sammantaget ligger Asus TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti något före RTX 3090 Ti i den totala syntetiska benchmarkprestandan som inkluderar olika 3DMark- och Unigine-tester. Den nya AD104 GPU:n ligger inte alltför långt efter RX 700 XT, men kan inte mäta sig med RX 7900 XTX och RTX 4080.

Vi märkte inga märkbara prestandaförluster i utvalda 3DMark-tester i Quiet BIOS-läget.

Effekterna av det minskade antalet CUDA-kärnor i AD104 börjar bli tydligare i benchmarks för beräkningar. TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti förlorar 24 % mot RTX 4080 i V-Ray 5 CUDA- och RTX-testerna och denna skillnad ökar till 45 % jämfört med RTX 4090 FE. TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti visar dock ordentliga förbättringar jämfört med RTX 3090 och RTX 3090 Ti i dessa tester

Blender Classroom CUDA visar återigen snedvridna resultat med RTX 4070 Ti i likhet med vad vi hade observerat med RTX 4090 och RTX 4080 även med de senaste drivrutinerna. Vi har kontaktat Nvidia och har ännu inte fått något svar från dem om detta. Optix rendering med TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti är endast två sekunder långsammare än RTX 4080

Intressant nog visar LuxMark Room GPU-only-testet att TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti har 35 procent bättre resultat än RTX 3090 Ti och en enorm ledning på 63 procent jämfört med RX 7900 XTX. AMD:s GPU:er kompenserar dock för detta underskott i Sala GPU-only benchmark där Radeon RX 6900 XT och RX 6950 XT toppar listan med upp till 37 % försprång över TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti.

TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti kan prestera i nivå med RTX 3090 Ti i ComputeMark men ligger 10 % efter RX 7900 XT totalt sett.

Asus TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti fortsätter att följa RTX 3090 Ti i speltesterna med märkbara vinster jämfört med RTX 3090. Kumulativt är TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti i nivå med RTX 3090 Ti och kan vara upp till 13 % snabbare gentemot RTX 3090 i testade spel

Prestandan ligger inte alltför långt efter RX 7900 XT och i vissa fall, till exempel vid QHD-inställningar, är RTX 4070 Ti på samma nivå eller kan till och med överträffa AMD:s näst bästa RDNA 3 GPU den här generationen.

Generellt sett framstår TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti som ett extremt kapabelt kort för QHD-spel med 100 fps vid Ultra-inställningar. Kortet klarar också av att köra de flesta moderna AAA-titlar i 4K Ultra 60 fps, men QHD är där AD104 briljerar mest.

Jämfört med toppmodellen RTX 4090 FE släpar RTX 4070 Ti efter med cirka 28 % totalt sett i rasterprestanda. Nvidia trycker på DLSS 3 som universalmedlet för att öka fps vid maxade inställningar, så det borde vara möjligt att nå ännu högre ramar vid 4K med DLSS 3 i titlar som stöds

Det faktum att vi nu får RTX 3090 Ti-nivåer av prestanda till en prislapp på 799 dollar visar hur mycket av en cash-grab Ampere-flaggskeppet var vid lanseringen.

TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti drar också nytta av de nya ray tracing-pipelines som introducerades med Ada-arkitekturen, inklusive den nya Opacity Micromap Engine och Displaced Micro-mesh Engine.

Ada medför också ett nytt schemaläggningssystem för Shader Execution Reordering (SER) för effektivare sekundär omordning av stråltrådar, men utvecklare måste specifikt dra nytta av det

RTX 4070 Ti har 29 procent färre RT-kärnor än RTX 3090 Ti. Ovanstående förbättringar av Adas RT-pipeline gör dock att RTX 4070 Ti är i nivå med Ampere-flaggskeppet. Naturligtvis är detta också starkt beroende av hur själva spelmotorn implementerar olika RT-funktioner, vilket är anledningen till att vi inte alltid ser betydande vinster

Metro Exodus (non-Enhanced Edition), till exempel, visar 11 % vinster i RT vid 1080p Ultra jämfört med RTX 3090, men vi ser inte heller någon större skillnad med ens RTX 4090 eller RTX 4080. Endast RX 7900 XTX kan erbjuda 10 % högre fps i den här inställningen. Liknande är fallet med

Far Cry 6 RT vid 1080p Ultra också.

Titlar som

Control, Ghostwire:Tokyo, och Dying Light 2 visar en mycket tydligare separation mellan RTX 4070 Ti och flaggskeppet Ada-kort när det gäller native ray tracing-prestanda

Utsläpp: Ingen märkbar skillnad mellan BIOS-lägena Performance och Quiet

Asus utrustar TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti med en kylare med tre fläktar - två av fläktarna roterar moturs mot den centrala fläkten och stannar helt vid temperaturer under eller lika med 50 °C. Som vanligt med de flesta AiB-kort får du en BIOS-omkoppling mellan Performance- och Quiet-lägena.

TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti O12G gör det möjligt att öka TGP med 10 % upp till 314 W, så det finns inte mycket överklockningspotential.

Stresstester

Under ett FurMark-strest vid 1280 x 720 utan AA ser vi att TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti utnyttjar sin 285 W TGP till fullo och körs med en genomsnittlig hastighet på 2 613 MHz, samtidigt som den maximala boosthastigheten på 2 640 MHz uppnås ibland. Om TGP:n ökas till 314 W ökar klockorna till 2 715 MHz medan medelvärdet ligger på 2 687 MHz. Detta har endast en minimal inverkan på GPU-hotspot-temperaturen, som kan öka upp till 83 °C.

Att stressa GPU:n med Witcher 3 vid 1080p Ultra presenterar ett mer verkligt scenario. Här ser vi att det praktiskt taget inte finns någon skillnad i olika GPU-parametrar mellan 285 W och 314 TGP. Detta beror på att Ada inte enbart förlitar sig på effektgränser för att öka klockorna. I det här fallet kan RTX 4070 Ti uppnå en boostfrekvens på 2 880 MHz vid cirka 246 W själv.

Asus hävdar att BIOS-läget Performance mode gör att kortet kan köras 9 °C kallare, men vi observerade ingen märkbar skillnad i GPU-parametrarna i något av BIOS-lägena med både FurMark och The Witcher 3 stresstester.
