Hölje - Plast istället för aluminium

För att minska tillverkningskostnaderna och garantera ett lågt inköpspris är Minisforum Venus Series UN1245:s fodral tillverkat av plast. Färgmässigt är Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 mestadels silverfärgad med svarta element på enhetens baksida. Basen är också helt svart. När det gäller stabiliteten kunde vi inte se några allvarliga svagheter. Visuellt är enheten välbyggd, men jämfört med Minisforum Venus Series NAB6är den haptiska upplevelsen något lidande. När det gäller utrymme gör dessa två maskiner inga kompromisser och med 12,9 × 12,8 centimeter fortsätter Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 att vara en kompakt enhet. MedMini IT11visar Geekom att ännu mindre är möjligt.

När det gäller vikt, med 545 gram, hör vårt granskningsprov till de lättaste i jämförelsen. Endast Geekom Mini IT11 är några gram lättare. Funktioner - Ett bra urval men utan Thunderbolt

När det gäller externa gränssnitt finns det i princip inget att klaga på. Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 erbjuder ett gediget urval med många USB-portar som kan hittas på framsidan och baksidan. Bildskärmar kan anslutas via HDMI, DisplayPort eller USB-C. Den senare kan också användas för att strömförsörja enheten. Den som har en bildskärm med Power Delivery-funktion slipper en extra kabel.

Minisforum Venus Series UN1245:s Wi-Fi-modul

Vi är redan bekanta med den installerade Mediathek RZ608 Wi-Fi-modulen eftersom den finns i många av Minisforums minidatorer. I princip levererar radiomodulen adekvat prestanda, men i jämförelse är dess kamrater ofta bättre, om än inte i någon allvarlig grad. Men det är värt att påpeka att användning av ett 6 GHz-frekvensband inte resulterar i bättre överföringshastigheter. I vårt test registrerade vi i gengäld relativt stabila överföringshastigheter utan några prestandasänkningar. För testet använde vi vår Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 testrouter. Som ett alternativ erbjuder Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 två snabba trådbundna anslutningar som möjliggör hastigheter på upp till 2,5 GBit/s.

Underhåll

Eftersom Minisforum även säljer Venus Series UN1245 som en barebone-variant är det självklart att man måste komma åt interndelarna för att kunna installera RAM eller en SSD. För att uppnå detta måste basen tas bort. Detta kan göras genom att ta bort skruvarna som finns under gummifötterna. Den som vill rengöra CPU-fläkten måste demontera enheten lite mer. Vi skulle dock avråda från att demontera kylsystemet eftersom Minisforum använder flytande metall för att garantera optimal värmeavledning. Internt erbjuder Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 utrymme för två SO DIMM-moduler och två masslagringsenheter.

Prestanda - Alder Lake-H med 8 kärnor och 12 trådar

MedIntel Core i5-12450Herbjuder Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 en bra SoC men en som inte tillhör de mest uppdaterade modellerna. I vardagligt bruk ser vi inga problem eftersom 8 kärnor och 12 trådar innebär att SoC också kan hantera krävande uppgifter. En identisk modell som Minisforum marknadsför som Venus Series UN1265 erbjuder något mer kraft med sin Intel Core i7-12650H.

Testförhållanden

Alla prestandatester utfördes med den mest högpresterande energiprofilen. SoC:ns prestanda ändrades inte i BIOS utan lämnades i enlighet med tillverkarens fabriksinställningar. Olika energiprofiler användes i buller- och energimätningarna enligt definitionen i våra testkriterier.

Processor

MedIntel Core i5-12450Herbjuder Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 en snabb SoC som har åtta inbyggda beräkningskärnor till sitt förfogande och kan bearbeta totalt 12 trådar samtidigt. I testet observerade vi dock att vårt granskningsprov placerades bakomAcemagic AD15. Anledningen till detta blev snabbt uppenbar eftersom Minisforum begränsar Intel Core i5-12450H: s strömförbrukning till endast 45 watt. Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 behöver dock inte gömma sig eftersom processorns prestanda är mer än tillräcklig i vardagliga situationer. Den goda single-core-prestandan påverkas inte av denna begränsning. Masslagring

Minisforum har installerat en Kingston 512 GB NVMe SSD i Venus Series UN1245. Minisforum utrustar även några av sina andra minidatorer med denna modell och vi var redan imponerade av dess prestanda i Minisforums Venus Series NAB6. I vårt recensionsexemplar observerade vi bättre prestanda vilket innebär att UN1245 nästan säkert är bättre i riktmärkena. Vid daglig användning är SSD-prestandan dock ganska andra klassens. Ändå välkomnar vi att tillverkaren tar steget mot att välja solida, underbart presterande SSD-enheter som tidigare uppnådde goda resultat. När det gäller kylning tog Minisforum en ny riktning med NAB6och installerade en kylare som inkluderade en liten fläkt. Men med vår Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 står vi återigen inför en konventionell passiv kylare. Detta är inte tillräckligt för att hålla SSD-enhetens prestanda stabil under kontinuerlig belastning.

Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 kan utrustas med totalt två masslagringsenheter. Förutom NVMe SSD finns det också fortfarande utrymme i enheten för en 2,5-tums masslagring. Men uppmärksamhet måste ägnas åt den maximala höjden på sju millimeter.

Den integrerade grafikenheten kommer i form av en Intel UHD Graphics med 64 EUs. På grund av SoC:ns begränsade prestanda har vi observerat sämre prestanda här än i Minisforum Venus Series NAB6. I princip är iGPU-prestandan endast användbar för enkel 2D-grafik. För krävande 3D-grafik är iGPU:n helt enkelt för svag. De nyare Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 modellerna är något kraftfullare, men dessa är betydligt sämre jämfört med AMD:s nuvarande iGPU:er som AMD Radeon 680M eller AMD Radeon 780M.

Vid våra volymmätningar når Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 inte riktigt upp till den standard som vi är vana vid från Minisforum. Vid lite mer än 32 dB(A) är systemet tyst, men det hörs hela tiden. Om man trycker på enheten blir det snabbt högre och vid 39,8 dB(A) ganska mycket högre. I stresstestet blev det dock marginellt högre igen och uppmätte en ljudnivå på över 43 dB(A). I den aktuella jämförelsen överträffar vårt recensionsexemplar bara Blackview MP200 och det är också bara under belastning.

Temperatur

Minisforum Venus Series UN1245:s hölje värms bara upp något när det körs på tomgång och under belastning. Termiska hotspots kan endast hittas i området för luftventilerna på baksidan av enheten.

Eftersom Minisforum endast förser Intel Core i5-12450H med 45 watt, noterade vi inga kritiska värden i stresstestet. Vi registrerade ett maximum på 80 °C i Prime95-stresstestet. När CPU och iGPU belastas samtidigt sjunker maxtemperaturen något eftersom strömförbrukningen måste delas. Det är också anledningen till att vi dokumenterade lägre 3D-prestanda med den här testenheten eftersom effektivare kylning skulle innebära att SoC kunde drivas med 95 watt.

I stresstestet observerade vi ett relativt lågt värde på 73,6 watt trots att konkurrenterna ofta skrapar eller till och med överskrider 100-wattsgränsen (Minisforum Venus-serien NAB6). Detta gör det medföljande 90-watts nätaggregatet tillräckligt stort och kan ge tillräcklig kapacitet för en andra masslagringsenhet.

Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 recension - tillhandahålls av Minisforum

Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 är en anspråkslös minidator som passar utmärkt för vardagligt kontorsarbete. MedIntel Core i5-12450Hfår du en utmärkt SoC som är både ekonomisk och kan hantera allt som kastas mot den. Tyvärr når SoC inte upp till förväntningarna eftersom effektgränsen bromsar prestandan i flera kärnor. Ur en subjektiv synvinkel är denna begränsning visserligen inte särskilt märkbar. Som ett resultat av prisskillnaden jämfört med de högkvalitativa enheterna i Venus-serien måste du nöja dig med ett plasthölje. Vi ser dock inte detta lika kritiskt som det faktum att Minisforum har utrustat Venus Series UN1245 med en mycket liten kylenhet. Denna är alltid närvarande och under belastning till och med tydligt hörbar. Det är på detta område som vi är vana vid andra/bättre alternativ från Minisforum.

Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 är ett gediget arbetsredskap med ett utmärkt förhållande mellan pris och prestanda.

Med endast 310 USD är Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 mycket prisvärd och det kan göra hela skillnaden. Naturligtvis bör man inte glömma att $310 endast avser barebone-systemet och vårt recensionsexemplar har ett begärt pris på cirka $429. Men även detta är fortfarande mycket billigt när man tar hänsyn till kraften.

När det gäller anslutningsalternativ är det bara vid andra anblicken som det blir uppenbart att vi har att göra med den billigare versionen av Venus-serien. Medan Minisforum Venus Series NAB6 fortfarande kom med dubbla LAN installerade, får du bara ett nätverksuttag här. Thunderbolt saknas också, vilket inte var fallet med Minisforum Venus Series NPB5.
