Gigabyte G7 KE i recension: Prisvärd bärbar dator för spel med en kraftfull RTX 3060

Det finns utrymme för förbättringar. Med en Core i5-12500H CPU och en GeForce RTX 3060 GPU för bärbara datorer ser alla aktuella titlar smidiga ut på den matta FHD-skärmen (300 Hz). CPU:n och GPU:n åtföljs av en snabb PCIe-4 SSD (1 TB), 16 GB RAM och en Thunderbolt 4-port. En kopia av operativsystemet Windows ingår inte.

G7 KE är en 17,3-tums bärbar dator för gaming i den lägre prisklassen. Gigabyte kombinerar en Alder Lake Core i5 CPU med en RTX 3060 GPU för cirka 1 200 euro (~1 300 USD). Billigare modeller med en GeForce RTX 3050 (G7 GE) eller GeForce RTX 3050 Ti (G7 ME) finns också tillgängliga. Bland konkurrenterna finns enheter som t.ex HP Pavilion Gaming 17, Acer Nitro 5 AN517-55, Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15IAH7 eller Asus TUF Gaming F17 FX707Z.

Väska - G7 med plastchassi

Gigabyte använder inte förstklassiga material för G7:s chassi. Istället förlitar sig tillverkaren på svart plast med släta, matta ytor. Det finns några subtila, visuella, svarta och gråa accenter tryckta på baksidan av locket och klickplattan. Chassiets utformning är annars mycket rak och kan beskrivas som "funktionell". Batteriet (fastskruvat, inte limmat) och de andra interna komponenterna kan nås efter att bottenplattan avlägsnats.

Chassits byggkvalitet berättigar inte till någon kritik. Avstånden är täta och det finns inget utskjutande överskottsmaterial. Även om basenheten kan vridas från hörnen bör detta inte vara något problem vid daglig användning. Lockets styvhet lämnar dock något att önska. Även om gångjärnen håller skärmen stadigt på plats tillåter de ett visst vinglande. Displayen kan öppnas upp till en maximal vinkel på cirka 140 grader. Det är möjligt att öppna locket med en hand.

G7 är en av de mest kompakta och lätta 17,3-tums enheterna i vår jämförelse. Endast Asus TUF Gaming F17 lyckas överträffa den med en liten marginal.

Anslutning - Gigabyte Notebook med Thunderbolt 4

G7 har två USB-A-portar (1x USB 2.0, 1x USB 3.2 gen. 1) och två USB-C-portar (1x USB 3.2 gen. 2, 1x Thunderbolt 4). Typ-C-gränssnitten stöder inte Power Delivery och endast TB4-porten stöder DisplayPort via USB-C. Tillsammans med HDMI-porten (2.1) och den dedikerade Mini DisplayPort (1.4) blir det totalt tre videoutgångar.

G7:s portar är fördelade på tre sidor av den bärbara datorn. De två dedikerade videoutgångarna finns på baksidan av enheten. Anslutna kablar löper alltså längs baksidan och är inte i vägen. Detsamma gäller inte för Ethernetkablar: Porten finns på modellens högra kant.

Förutom det vanliga pappersarbetet (snabbstartguide och garantiinformation) innehåller den bärbara datorn även en skruv för installation och en termisk kudde för kylning av den sekundära SSD-enheten.

Underhåll

Efter att ha tagit bort alla skruvar på enhetens undersida kan bottenplattan avlägsnas med hjälp av en vass kant - den sitter dock väldigt fast på vissa ställen. På insidan kan användarna komma åt SSD-enheten (PCIe 4), den sekundära M.2-platsen (PCIe 3), Wi-Fi-modulen, RAM-platserna (båda i bruk), BIOS-batteriet, fläktarna och huvudbatteriet.

Garanti

Gigabyte-modellen på 17,3 tum levereras med en begränsad standardgaranti på ett år. Det finns för närvarande inga garantiförlängningar tillgängliga.

Inmatningsenheter - Tangentbord med RGB-bakgrundsbelysning

Tangentbord

De platta, släta tangenterna på det bakgrundsbelysta chiclet-tangentbordet har måttlig rörlighet och en tydlig aktiveringspunkt. Tangentåterkopplingen kunde ha varit fastare. Tangentbordsytan ger något efter när du skriver, även om detta inte borde vara något problem i praktiken. Bra: Tangentbordet använder piltangenter i full storlek. RGB-bakgrundsbelysningen (fyra nivåer) kan styras via tre funktionstangenter. På det hela taget levererar Gigabyte ett bra tangentbord för daglig användning.

Pekplatta

Tack vare den stora klickplattan (~ 15,2 x 9,1 cm) med multitouch-funktion behövs ingen extern mus, eftersom den släta ytan har goda glidegenskaper. Den är responsiv ända in i hörnen. Pekplattan har kort rörelse och en tydlig aktiveringspunkt.

Skärmens färgprecision är mycket bra från fabrik: Med en avvikelse på 1,32 ligger den bekvämt inom det ideala området (deltaE < 3). Efter att vi själva kalibrerat skärmen sjunker avvikelsen till 1,03 för en ännu mer exakt representation av gråskalan. Skärmen kan återge hela sRGB-färgrymden (100 %), medan färgrymderna AdobeRGB (72 %) och DCI-P3 (70 %) inte kan visas i sin helhet. Dessa resultat liknar de flesta konkurrenters resultat.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Core i5-12500H (Alder Lake) består av fyra prestandakärnor (Hyper-Threading, 2,5 till 4,5 GHz) och åtta effektivitetskärnor (ingen Hyper-Threading, 1,8 till 3,3 GHz). Det finns alltså totalt 16 logiska CPU-kärnor.

De genomsnittliga klockfrekvenserna är höga både under benchmarks med flera kärnor (P-kärnor: 3,9 till 4,2 GHz, E-kärnor: 1,5 till 3,1 GHz) och med en kärna (P-kärnor: 4,2 till 4,5 GHz, E-kärnor: 1,5 till 3,3 GHz). Klockfrekvenserna sänks i batteriläge. Med vår CB15-slinga kunde vi bekräfta kontinuerlig användning av CPU Turbo. Core i5:s riktmärkesresultat ligger totalt sett något över genomsnittet.
