So it is with the Asus TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition. The display is excellent, it’s easy to upgrade, the keyboard is good and battery life surpasses expectations. Of course, this is primarily a gaming machine, so it’s gaming performance we must judge it by, but here, too, the TUF A16 needs no excuses made for it. All told, this is one of the most balanced gaming laptop packages you can get for under £1,500. It’s a fantastic gaming machine.

The ASUS TUF Gaming A16 FA607 (2024) is a balanced gaming device that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. You don’t get tons of CPU and GPU options but the Dragon Range-HX CPUs pack a lot of power and the NVIDIA GPUs aren’t TGP limited. The cooling is doing its job well. The Ryzen 9 7845HX can sustain almost 4.00 GHz in long 100% CPU loads and the GeForce RTX 4060 boasts a 2610 MHz core clock in gaming. Now, the fans are definitely loud in “Turbo” mode. If you switch down to “Performance”, the processor clock remains decent (~3.60 GHz) while the graphics card power limit is ~80W. The base PWM-free 1200p IPS panel (CSOT MNG007QA1-1 (CSW1639)) is surprisingly good. It’s snappy thanks to the 165Hz refresh rate and the 9 ms pixel response times. Also, the sRGB coverage is 93% and the color accuracy can be enhanced from a 3.1 score to an average dE result of 1.2 when our “Design and Gaming” profile is applied.

If you need plenty of CPU power, this will serve you just fine; if you’re looking for a gaming laptop instead, perhaps the Lenovo LOQ 15 will give you a better overall package. Asus:
De här grafikkorten bör klara av alla nuvarande spel med acceptabel bildfrekvens, men inte nödvändigtvis med höga inställningar. Särskilt krävande spel kanske bara fungerar med låga inställningar. Till skillnad från prestandakorten hittar man däremot de här grafikkorten i bärbara datorer av lite mindre format med bättre batteritid.
AMD Radeon RX 7600S: Snabbt mobilt grafikkort i mellanklassen baserat på RDNA 3-arkitekturen. Har 1 792 kärnor (28 CU) med en TDP på upp till 90 watt. Använder Navi 33-chippet som tillverkas i 6 nm hos TSMC. Lågeffektsvariant av RX 7600M med något reducerad prestanda.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU:
High-end grafikkort för bärbara datorer baserat på Ada Lovelace-arkitekturen. Erbjuder 8 GB GDDR6 (128 bitar) och är konfigurerbar med en TGP på 35 - 115W (+ Dynamic Boost).
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU:
Mid-range grafikkort för bärbara datorer baserat på Ada Lovelace-arkitekturen. Erbjuder 6 GB GDDR6 (96 bitar) och är konfigurerbar med en TGP på 35 - 115W (+ Dynamic Boost).
De här grafikkorten levererar bäst 3D-prestanda för bärbara datorer. De kan hantera alla nya spel i hög upplösning och ofta med avancerade inställningar. Däremot är strömförbrukningen hög, så batteritiden blir lidande (med undantag för bärbara datorer med växlingsbar grafik). Som regel hittar man bara de här GPU:erna i större laptops.

R9 7940HS: Högklassig mobil 8-kärnig processor baserad på Zen 4-arkitekturen. CPU-kärnorna klockar upp till 5,2 GHz och exekverar 16 trådar samtidigt. Integrerar en XDNA Ai-Engine. TDP kan konfigureras mellan 35 och 54 watt.
AMD Dragon Range (Zen 4, Ryzen 7X4X/8X4X):
R9 7845HX: Högklassig mobil 12-kärnig processor baserad på Zen 4-arkitekturen. CPU-kärnorna klockar upp till 5,2 GHz och exekverar 24 trådar samtidigt. TDP kan konfigureras mellan 45 och 75 watt.
Intel Raptor Lake-HX:
i7-13650HX: Mobil CPU baserad på Raptor Lake-serien som erbjuder 14 kärnor (6 prestandakärnor, 8 effektivitetskärnor) som klockar med upp till 4,9 GHz (P-kärnor) eller 3,6 GHz (E-kärnor).
AMD Strix Halo/Point (Zen 5/5c, Ryzen AI 300):
Ryzen AI 9 HX 370: Ett kraftfullt chip i Strix Point-familjen som förväntas lanseras i juni 2024. APU:n sägs ha 12 CPU-kärnor, en RDNA 3+-grafikkort med 16 CU och en 45 TOPS neuralmotor.
AMD Hawk Point (Zen 4/4c):
