It delivers the GTX 980M 3D performance and has lots of nice features and qualities – very good keyboard, good IPS display (no PWM), good thermals, good set of connection ports and more. However, it is really big and weighs quite a lot, around 5kg with the PSU. It also costs $1900-$2000, the lowest.

The teardown revealed roughly the same concept as before but with a different choice of materials that leads to less rigidity and solid feel. Some parts can be replaced with aluminum elements to elevate the feel and others need to be more solid, like the lid and keyboard tray for example. Also, the designers still incorporate most of the ports on the right side of the chassis making it a bit overcrowded. However, we are still happy with the input devices as both, the keyboard and touchpad, offer superb usability and user experience.

That said, the Gigabyte P55W v5 puts up a pretty decent fight as its main competitor, even if its gaming performance isn’t quite as fast or as smooth. Still, with a difference of around £1,000 separating the two, a slightly lower overall frame rate is definitely worth the saving in my eyes, and it just edges ahead of the G752VY as our top gaming laptop recommendation. However, if you’ve got the budget and want something to show off to your friends, the G752VY certainly won’t disappoint.

Asus has used an impressive chassis that was employed with 9-series graphics and has performed a significant upgrade to 10-series Pascal that blows the doors off the previous model. We commented that the previous model was big and heavy and this is clearly still the case. However, when you factor in the increased performance you are less inclined to harp on about 4kg of bulk.

Our general opinion of the ASUS ROG G752VS remains somehow unchanged. It’s an excellent premium gaming notebook with fast storage solutions (2x M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD), ridiculously powerful GTX 1070 on board and a cooling system to support all of this demanding hardware. The display is also of high quality, although it’s identical to the previous version while retaining the much-needed G-Sync technology paired with the 75Hz refresh rate. However, we are still puzzled by the fact that the G752VS continues the bad trend of excluding the iGPU from the system and thus ruining the battery life and crippling the 90Wh capacity. Also, the build quality is rather questionable in the long run – the construction feels rigid but the choice of materials is unsatisfactory – and falls behind some of its competitors like the Acer Predator 15 and Predator 17 – even compared to its distant predecessor the ASUS ROG G751 – while sharing the overcrowded port distribution on the right side. We hope this gets fixed in the future alterations of the laptop.

EN→SV Archive.org versionOur general opinion of the ASUS ROG G752VS remains somehow unchanged. It’s an excellent premium gaming notebook with fast storage solutions (2x M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD), ridiculously powerful GTX 1070 on board and a cooling system to support all of this demanding hardware. The display is also of high quality, although it’s identical to the previous version while retaining the much-needed G-Sync technology paired with the 75Hz refresh rate. However, we are still puzzled by the fact that the G752VS continues the bad trend of excluding the iGPU from the system and thus ruining the battery life and crippling the 90Wh capacity. Also, the build quality is rather questionable in the long run – the construction feels rigid but the choice of materials is unsatisfactory – and falls behind some of its competitors like the Acer Predator 15 and Predator 17 – even compared to its distant predecessor the ASUS ROG G751 – while sharing the overcrowded port distribution on the right side. We hope this gets fixed in the future alterations of the laptop.

As the prices of top-end style laptops like the MacBook Pro and HP Spectre 13 increase, the Asus ROG G752VM starts to look like an even better buy than last year's models. And, as hoped, the latest 10-series Nvidia graphics cards blow away what came before. Despite being two rungs lower, gaming performance is not all that far off the former top dog GTX 980M, and similar to that of the desktop-grade GTX 970. In other words, it's perfect for 1080p gaming. There are just a few issues. A textured glass (rather than plastic) trackpad would have been appreciated and we'd like to see Asus put a little more work into the sound quality of the speakers, rather than just trying to make them as loud as possible.

Its graphics card is pristine for Triple A games on full settings, and the same sweet things can be said about its processor, RAM and storage set-up. The big Full HD screen is enjoyable to watch at with G-Sync enabled. However, despite the heavy-duty battery, this thing won’t run long without being plugged in. Thus if you’re looking for a gaming desktop replacement, I would wholeheartedly recommend this large and extremely powerful Asus for your use.

Asus:
Det här är mindre avancerade grafikkort för användare som ändå vill kunna spela spel. Nya spel bör vara spelbara, men ofta bara med låga detaljinställningar och låg upplösning. Eftersom moderna grafikkort i den här klassen har låg strömförbrukning kan även batteritiden vara bra.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M: Ett grafikkort i prestandaklassen ur GTX 900M-serien. Baserat på Maxwellkretsen GM204.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M: Ett grafikkort i prestandaklassen för stora bärbara datorer. 900M-serien bygger på Nvidias Maxwellarkitektur och 980M använder kretsen GM204.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M: Ett mobilt grafikkort i prestandaklassen från GTX 900M-serien. Kortet bygger på Maxwell-kretsen GM204.
Intel HD Graphics 530: Integrerad GPU (GT2) med 24 EU:er. Finns i vissa Skylake-processormodeller (mobila och stationära)
De här grafikkorten bör klara av alla nuvarande spel med acceptabel bildfrekvens, men inte nödvändigtvis med höga inställningar. Särskilt krävande spel kanske bara fungerar med låga inställningar. Till skillnad från prestandakorten hittar man däremot de här grafikkorten i bärbara datorer av lite mindre format med bättre batteritid.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Mobile:
Pascal-baserat mobilt grafikkort i toppskiktet baserad på en avskalad GP104 (likt GTX 1080) och GDDR5-grafikminne. Efterföljare till GTX 980M med 10 Watt högre TDP. Liknar desktop-versionen av GTX 1070 prestandamässigt, men mer fler shaders och lägre klockfrekvens.
