AMD eller Intel? AMD har på senare tid intensifierat konkurrensen med Intel och allt fler Ryzen-utrustade laptops har börjat dyka upp på marknaden. Lenovo har släppt både AMD- och Intel-drivna versioner av sin 13.3-tums ThinkPad X39-serie och det är AMD-versionen som kommer vara i fokus i den här recensionen. ThinkPad X390 imponerade i vår tidigare recension, så hur står sig AMD-utrustade X395? Display Response Times

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

ThinkPad X390 med en Intel CPU fick 90% när vi recenserade den i April, 1% mer än ThinkPad X395 har. Men det gör inte den förstnämnda bättre än den sistnämnda eftersom vi har bytt till ett nytt omdömessystem sen April. ThinkPad X390 och X395 är ungefär lika bra, men båda har sina egenheter.

Båda enheterna delar samma fantastiska inmatningsenheter och utmärkta skärmar tillsammans med en besvärligt placerad microSD-kortplats. Dessutom har Lenovo utrustat båda enheterna med fastlött RAM och en fläktventil på höger sida om chassit som blåser varm luft över handen du håller musen med om du är högerhänt.

Men X395 har fler säkerhetsfunktioner är X390 och har dessutom betydligt bättre grafikprestanda samtidigt som den använder mindre energi vid belastning. På grund av det kan X395 hamna en aning före X390 vid en direkt jämförelse.

Men med det sagt, även om X395 har bättre GPU-prestanda än X390 så stryps dess processor också mer vid ihållande belastning. Lenovo verkar ha gjort detta för att hålla X395 tyst, sval och ekonomisk även om det sker på bekostnad av CPU-prestandan. Som av en händelse saknar X395 också en Thunderbolt 3-port, vilket för tillfället fortfarande är ett propretiärt Intel-interface. Men den har i gengäld HDMI 2.0 istället för den äldre 1.4-standarden.

Lenovo ThinkPad X395 är en utmärkt kontorslaptop som visade upp få svagheter i vårt test. Den AMD-drivna maskinen är jämförbar med sitt Intel-syskon samtidigt som den är tystare, svalare och mer ekonomisk. X395 har dessutom högre GPU-prestanda än X390, vilket är en bonus.

Lenovo säljer för tillfället vår testkonfiguration för runt 9.300 kronor, men tredjepartsåterförsäljare kan snart tänkas sälja X395 ännu billigare. Totalt sett kan vi rekommendera X395 till både företag och privatpersoner som letar efter en gedigen subnotebook på 13.3 tum.
