Ryzen 7 är här, men inte i full styrka. Acers Swift 3 är en av dom första maskinerna som använder AMD:s nya APU, men den är eventuellt inte det bästa exemplet på vad chippet kan göra. Även om prestandan i dom flesta fall har ökat en aning jämfört med Ryzen 5 2500U så ligger den efter alternativen från Intel trots vad AMD:s marknadsföring om och om igen lovar. Kombinerat med likgiltig batteritid och en skärm som besviker så är det mycket som arbetar mot Ryzen 7-varianten av Swift 3.

Maskinen har dock några höjdpunkter. Chassit ser bra ut och är ganska lätt och portabelt. Tangentbordet och styrplattan är bra och spelprestandan är överlägsen andra integrerade GPU:er. I slutändan lämnar den återhållna prestandan en bitter eftersmak i munnen. Det finns gott om utrymme att ta kiseln längre, vilket visar på en del hopp för framtiden. Men den tanken beror helt på om AMD lyckas leverera förbättrade drivrutiner och att Acer skickar ut uppdateringar i tid.

Det finns en ljusglimt: priset. För ca 8 300 kronor så ligger Ryzen 7-varianten av Swift 3 bra till för köpare som vill unna sig lite lättare spelande då och då. Intel Core i7-8550U slår lätt 2700U men kostar runt 1 700 - 2 600 kronor mer. Tappet i CPU-prestanda på 10-15% kan vara värt det lägre priset för Swift 3; ökningen i GPU-kraft är grädden på rimligt prissatt mos. Det finns bättre alternativ tillgängliga, men dom kommer med en högre prislapp.

För att summera så lovar Ryzen 7 2700U mycket med lyckas inte leverera, åtminstone inte i Acer Swift 3. Det finns gott om utrymme för förbättring, men det är upp till AMD och Acer att ta denna APU vidare. Swift 3 är dock ändå väl prissatt för vad den erbjuder. Intel kan behöva börja titta sig över axeln.
