Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Acer Aspire 5 A515-43-R057 är en förlorad chans. I teorin borde den varit ett kap för 5.000 kronor då den har en mer kraftfull CPU och mer lagring än de flesta andra konkurrerande enheterna. Vår recensionsenhet har skapliga inmatningsenheter, är robust och har dessutom jämförelsevis bra batteritid, vilket gör processorns prestanda ännu mer frustrerande.

Om du letar efter en skaplig och billig laptop passar Acer Aspire 5 515-43-R057 antagligen bra. Men prestandan kunde varit så mycket bättre om Acer bara gjort några justeringar.

För att sammanfatta så hamnar Ryzen 5 3500U-processorn i A515-43-R057 långt under förväntningarna i de flesta scenarier vi testat. Att aktivera dualkanalsläge genom att lägga till en andra RAM-modul skulle förbättra prestandan en aning, men ett underdimensionerat kylsystem är troligen roten till det här problemet. Totalt sett, även om Acer Aspire A515-43-R057 är en gedigen budgetlaptop, kunde den varit så mycket bättre om Acer bara utrustat den med en bättre kyllösning.
