Recension av HP Envy 14 - Framgångsrik allt-i-allo

Ljusstark 16:10-skärm. Det är inte helt lätt att hitta en bärbar dator med en ljusstark skärm i prisklassen under 10 000 kronor. HP:s eleganta och kompakta Envy 14 är ett av de få undantagen. Läs vidare för att ta reda på vad mer 14-tummaren kan göra.

Det här är inte första gången vi granskar HP Envy 14. Vi kunde ta en titt påeb0010nr förra året, som var utrustad med enGeForce GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q och 16 GB RAM-minne. För ett betydligt lägre pris (från 700 euro (~696 dollar)) finns även modellen eb0252ng som vi recenserar här; den saknar det dedikerade grafikkortet och har endast 8 GB RAM, men i gengäld ärver den IPS-displayen med 1920x1200 pixlar i 16:10-format (även om den är matt istället för blank och inte har stöd för pekfunktion). SSD-kapaciteten på 1 TB är inte heller dålig med tanke på priset. Som för närvarande är vanligt fungerar Windows 11 Home som operativsystem

Vi börjar med ljusstyrkan: Tack vare ett genomsnitt på 439 i stället för 392 cd/m² är vårt prov betydligt bättre lämpat för utomhusbruk. På grund av den mycket liknande svartnivån (0,31 vs. 0,32 cd/m²) finns det också en högre kontrast. 1 455:1 i stället för 1 288:1 är en mycket bra kurs för en IPS-skärm

Display Response Times

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

In comparison: 52 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 19846 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 3846000) Hz was measured.

Prestanda

Med 8 GB RAM-minne, en 1000 GB stor SSD-enhet och en fyrkärnig processor är Envy 14-eb0252ng bekvämt placerad mellan instegsnivå och mellanklass när det gäller prestanda. Medan lagringsenheten kan bytas ut vid behov kan det lödda och icke-expanderbara RAM-minnet kritiseras (nyckelord: långsiktig hållbarhet)

Provningsvillkor

Användarna kan bland annat justera systemkontrollen i HP:s överskådliga Command Center. Som framgår av skärmbilden finns det 4 enhetslägen, varav 3 är utrustade med ytterligare reglage. Våra mätningar är baserade på fabriksinställningarna, vilket innebär att profilen "Balanced" används. Naturligtvis kan de fastställda resultaten skilja sig åt när man använder de andra lägena

Processor

Precis som touch-versionen är den billigare modellen av Envy 14 utrustad med enCore i5-1135G7 från Intels Tiger Lake -generation, som inte är lika ny längre. Chippet på 10 nm, som anges med en TDP på 12 till 28 watt, erbjuder 8 MB L3-cache, 4 kärnor och kan hantera upp till 8 trådar parallellt via Hyper-Threading. Det fanns inga överraskningar i vår benchmarkbana. CPU-prestandan anpassar sig till 1135G7-genomsnittet. Modellen Tiger Lake har inte en chans mot konkurrenternas AMD-chip. Både Ryzen 5 5600U och Ryzen 7 5700U sprintar i delar klart ifrån, inte minst tack vare det högre antalet kärnor (6 respektive 8). Ändå är i5-1135G7 helt tillräcklig för typiska vardagsprogram som kontor, video, webb och lätt till medelhög multitasking
