There’s a price that looks reasonable for the performance, but a caveat is required here until we receive full pricing details. You’ll be able to customise your build to either fit mid-tier creative and gaming needs up to something that will accommodate professional creators on the go and higher-end gaming. The full package is backed up by a keyboard that offers a good first impression and a wondrous display. It’s not the most portable device and other features that I didn’t have the opportunity to test out, like the speakers and webcam, will also play a part in determining if this is up there with the best of them.

Is the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i better than the MacBook Pro? Tough question. The Lenovo has a faster screen with a touch interface, an Nvidia GPU that makes it better suited to gaming and, in my view, a superior keyboard. The Apple laptop counters with far longer battery life, better HDR performance (but that’s a MacOS vs Windows issue) and better connectivity. Like-for-like, the MacBook Pro is considerably more expensive. My review system has the Mini LED display, Core i9 CPU and RTX 4070 graphics, but I can’t find that exact model on sale in the UK. The otherwise identical RTX 4060 model is, however, readily available for £2,299, and since the performance drop-off between the RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 is not that dramatic, I’ve based my value-for-money conclusions on that. What can be said though is that the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16 is one of the very best MacBook Pro rivals yet, topping the HP Omen Transcend 16 and Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra in terms of graphical and audio performance, even if it similarly falls foul in battery life.

Lenovo:

De här grafikkorten bör klara av alla nuvarande spel med acceptabel bildfrekvens, men inte nödvändigtvis med höga inställningar. Särskilt krävande spel kanske bara fungerar med låga inställningar. Till skillnad från prestandakorten hittar man däremot de här grafikkorten i bärbara datorer av lite mindre format med bättre batteritid.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU:

Mid-range grafikkort för bärbara datorer baserat på Ada Lovelace-arkitekturen. Erbjuder 6 GB GDDR6 (96 bitar) och är konfigurerbar med en TGP på 35 - 115W (+ Dynamic Boost).

De här grafikkorten levererar bäst 3D-prestanda för bärbara datorer. De kan hantera alla nya spel i hög upplösning och ofta med avancerade inställningar. Däremot är strömförbrukningen hög, så batteritiden blir lidande (med undantag för bärbara datorer med växlingsbar grafik). Som regel hittar man bara de här GPU:erna i större laptops.

i9-13905H: En Alder-Lake-baserad mobil CPU med 6 prestandakärnor och 8 effektiva kärnor. Prestandakärnorna erbjuder hyper threading, vilket leder till 20 trådar som kan bearbetas. CPU:n klockar med upp till 5,4 GHz. Liknar i9-13900H men utan vPro-stöd och 13905H använder ett annat paket och sockel.

Intel Meteor Lake-H:

Ultra 9 185H: Ett toppmodernt Meteor Lake-chip som debuterade i december 2023. Denna 1:a generationens Core Ultra-processor har kommit för att ersätta 13:e generationens Core-chip; den har 16 kärnor (6 + 8 + 2) och 22 trådar till sitt förfogande. Dess prestandakärnor, av vilka det finns 6, körs på upp till 5,1 GHz medan dess effektiva kärnor, av vilka det finns 10 (8 huvudkärnor plus 2 extra som finns i Low Power Island) körs på upp till 3,8 GHz. Den 8-kärniga Arc GPU, som precis kommit ut ur ugnen, fungerar som integrerad grafikadapter - denna körs på upp till 2,35 GHz - och det finns en mängd andra helt nya tekniker som också erbjuds, till exempel den integrerade AI Boost NPU med två Gen 3-motorer för acceleration av AI-arbetsbelastning i hårdvara. Denna bärbara processors "bas"-effektförbrukning är 45 W, medan dess Turbo-effektförbrukning inte är tänkt att gå över 115 W.

Intel Arrow Lake:

Ultra 9 285H: High-end mobilprocessor baserad på Arrow Lake-arkitekturen med 16 kärnor fördelade på 3 kluster. De 6 snabba P-kärnorna klockar upp till 5,4 GHz. Det finns också 8 mindre E-kärnor med upp till 4,5 GHz och 2 små lågeffektkärnor (samma arkitektur) med upp till 2,5 GHz. SoC:n integrerar en liten NPU med 13 TOPS topprestanda och stödjer vPro Enterprise.
