Lenovo Yoga 9i 14 G8 2023 konvertibel i en recension: Intel Raptor Lake gör mig besviken

Premiär för Core i7-1360P. Den nya G8-modellen av Lenovos avancerade konvertibla Yoga 9i 14 är den första enheten med Intels nya Raptor Lake-mobilprocessor. Vår granskning avslöjar dock endast mindre förbättringar och de nya Intel-processorerna är en besvikelse, särskilt när det gäller den integrerade grafiken.

Lenovo erbjuder en högklassig 14-tums konvertibel i form av Yoga 9i 14, som nu går in i sin åttonde generation. Utseendemässigt är den nya Yoga 9i 14 G8 trogen sin föregångare, men använder Intels nya mobila processor från Raptor Lake-generationen (13:e generationen), Core i7-1360P. I recensionen här är det modellen med 2,8K OLED-skärm, men varianten med 4K OLED, som vi recenserade förra året, finns alternativt tillgänglig. Vår testenhet med 512 GB SSD-lagring kostar för närvarande 1 499,99 USD på Lenovos webbplats i USA, modellen med 4K OLED och 1 TB SSD-lagring kostar 1 749,99 USD.

Case & utrustning

Lenovo har helt omarbetat chassit yoga 9 14 förra året, så designen är nu främst rundare jämfört med tidigare versioner. Det finns också kontrasterande element som de polerade omgivande kanterna eller skärmens gångjärn, som också rymmer en del av ljudsystemet. Förutom Storm Gray för vår testenhet finns det även en silverfärgad modell.

Trots 16:10-panelen är i synnerhet skärmens nedre kant fortfarande mycket bred, vilket påverkar både skärm-till-kropp-förhållandet (78 %) och fodralets totala djup negativt. Dessutom ligger de två halvorna av fodralet inte helt i nivå med varandra när den bärbara datorn är hopfälld

Både utförande och stabilitet är mycket bra och vi har ingen kritik här. Särskilt det centrala gångjärnet är mycket väljusterat och håller det jämförelsevis stora locket mycket säkert på plats. Fingeravtryck och smuts är egentligen inget större problem för de matta metallytorna. När det gäller portar, WLAN-modulen och webbkameran har inga förändringar gjorts jämfört med 2022 års modell.

Underhåll

Det är fortfarande onödigt komplicerat att komma åt de inre delarna av Yoga 9 14, med tre små skruvar under den bakre gummifoten, som är fastlimmad på plats. När det nedre locket har tagits bort kan de två fläktarna rengöras och M.2 2280 SSD:n kan också bytas ut.

Inmatningsenheter - Precision Pen 2 ingår

Vi hänvisar också till vår granskning avföregångaren när det gäller inmatningsenheterna, eftersom det inte finns några skillnader här. Tangenternas rörlighet är jämförelsevis kort, men tangentbordet erbjuder ändå exakt och skarp återkoppling och därmed en mycket bra skrivkänsla överlag. Dessutom kan tangentbordets bakgrundsbelysning aktiveras via en sensor, vilket också fungerar bra. Du måste dock vänja dig vid den extra kolumnen på höger sida.

Klickplattan fungerar felfritt, men klickljudet låter fortfarande väldigt högt och billigt. Yoga 9i 14 levereras också som standard med Lenovo Precision Pen 2, som inte kan stuvas in i fodralet, men som erbjuder ergonomin hos en vanlig penna och fungerar överlag mycket bra.

Lenovo erbjuder två olika glänsande OLED-pekskärmar till Yoga 9 14. 4K OLED pekskärm, som vi testade i 2022-modellen, är fortfarande tillgänglig som tillval, men 2,8K OLED pekskärm är installerad som standard. Enligt specifikationsbladet erbjuder denna en något lägre upplösning på 2 880 x 1 800, men en högre frekvens på 90 Hz. Detta fungerar bra när det gäller rörliga bilder, men 2,8K OLED visar också en moiré-effekt, det vill säga ett lätt rutnät (syns inte på subpixelbilden). Detta är särskilt märkbart på ljusa ytor och vid korta sittavstånd. Det borde inte vara något problem vid normala sitthåll, men du bör betala tilläggsavgiften på 250 US-dollar för 4K-panelen om du vill undvika detta fenomen och vara på den säkra sidan

Kärnvärdena för de två panelerna är jämförbara, eftersom vi fastställde en maximal SDR-hällbarhet på cirka 380 cd/m² och en maximal ljusstyrka på cirka 570 cd/m² i HDR-läge, men Windows HDR-implementering är fortfarande i behov av förbättringar. HDR-läget måste aktiveras manuellt i inställningarna och då fungerar inte heller färghanteringen längre. Som väntat är svartnivån extremt låg, vilket resulterar i ett mycket högt kontrastförhållande. Backlight bleeding finns inte i OLED-paneler, men PWM med en frekvens på 360 Hz kickar in från en ljusstyrka på 86 % eller mindre.

Vi mätte skärmen med hjälp av professionell CalMAN-programvara (X-Rite i1 Pro 2) och bildkvaliteten är redan i fabriksskick hyfsad, särskilt i gråskala. Inget färgstick syns, endast färgtemperaturen är något för varm. Det finns dock vissa avvikelser i färgerna, som vi inte kunde förbättra nämnvärt, inte ens med vår egen kalibrering. Precis som med 4K-panelen är Yoga 9 14 alltså olämplig för bild-/videoredigering, trots den höga färgrymdstäckningen.

Display Response Times

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

The frequency of 360 Hz is relatively high, so most users sensitive to PWM should not notice any flickering. However, there are reports that some users are still sensitive to PWM at 500 Hz and above, so be aware.

In comparison: 53 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 17735 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 3846000) Hz was measured.

Den starkt reflekterande pekskärmen är problematisk utomhus. OLED-panelens höga kontrast hjälper till, men reflektioner blir snabbt ett problem. När det gäller betraktningsvinkelstabilitet finns det i princip inga begränsningar, men ett svagt blått skimmer syns i vissa vinklar, vilket är typiskt för OLED-skärmar.

Prestanda - Intel Raptor Lake

Den nya Yoga 9i 14 G8 erbjuds för närvarande endast med den nya Intel Core i7-1360P och 16 GB LPDDR5-5200 RAM-minne. Endast hårddiskkapaciteten har olika alternativ, nämligen 512 GB och 1 TB.

 
 

Provningsförhållanden

Förutom prestandainställningarna i Windows erbjuder den förinstallerade Lenovo Vantage-appen tre olika profiler (Battery Saver, Intelligent Cooling och High Performance) som kan väljas antingen i appen eller via tangentkombinationen Fn+Q. Vi använde läget High Performance för följande benchmarks och mätningar.

Processor - Core i7-1360P

Till skillnad från de nya mobila HX-processorerna har inte mycket förändrats i U- och P-serierna i Raptor Lake-generationen jämfört med de gamla Alder Lake-modellerna. Förutom en något högre maximal klockfrekvens motsvarar den nya Core i7-1360P också den gamla Core i7-1260P (4 prestandakärnor & 8 effektivitetskärnor), som vi redan har sett i vår omfattande analys. I Yoga 9i 14 G8 (liksom i Yoga 9i 14 G8 föregångaren) arbetar denna med upp till 64 watt i korta utbrott och med upp till 38 watt konstant, varför vi även har en direkt jämförelse här. Så Yoga 9i 14 bör återigen vara en av de snabbaste bärbara datorerna med Raptor Lake P i år, och vi ser också ett försprång på 8 % jämfört med Core i7-1260P i den gamla Yoga 9i 14 i alla våra CPU-benchmarks. Detta innebär dock också att den nya Raptor Lake bara ligger strax före den gamla AMD Ryzen 7 6800U och den lilla Apple M2 Pro (10 kärnor)i Cinebench R23 Multi, till exempel, medan M2 Pro med 12 kärnor är betydligt snabbare. Det är bara i testerna med enstaka kärnor som Intel fortfarande har en fördel, men vi kommer till effektiviteten om en stund.

Fördelen med den nya Raptor-Lake-mobilprocessorn försvinner snabbt i vår Cinebench R15-multiloop och den ligger bara en liten bit före den gamla Yoga 9i 14 med sitt Alder-Lake-chip. Prestandan förblir åtminstone stabil i batteriläge.

Vi tog också en titt på effektiviteten hos den nya Raptor Lake Core i7-1360P, varvid mätningen utfördes med en extern skärm för att ta bort påverkan från den interna skärmen. Eftersom vi redan har sett attCore i7-1360Perbjuder något mer prestanda än Core i7-1260P i den gamla Yoga 9i 14 med identiska effektgränser har även effektiviteten ökat något, både i testet med en och flera kärnor. Intel ligger dock fortfarande klart efter förra årets AMD Ryzen 7 6800Usamt Apple's aktuella M2 Pro-chip här.

Överföringshastigheterna är överlag mycket bra och framför allt kan enheten lätt bibehålla sin prestanda under långvarig belastning.
