HP ZBook Power 15 G9 laptop recension - Mobil arbetsstation med en matt 4K-skärm

Alder Lake och RTX A2000. Med ZBook Power 15 erbjuder HP en mobil arbetsstation i instegssegmentet. Förutom de aktuella Alder Lake CPU:erna används även professionella GPU:er från Nvidia, men endast chip upp till RTX A2000.

HP erbjuder olika serier av mobila arbetsstationer, med början i den tunna ZBook Fireflypå instegsnivå, följt av denZBook Studio, den ZBook Furyoch ZBook Power, som är tänkt att vara en bra kombination av pris och prestanda. Även om höljet inte är särskilt slimmat medför detta också ett tillräckligt antal portar. Vi testar versionen ZBook Power 15 G9 6B8C4EA för cirka 2 800 euro (~2981 dollar), som är mycket välutrustad med en Core i7-12700H, denRTX A2000, 32 GB RAM, en 1 TB SSD och en matt 4K-skärm. Jämfört med föregångaren ZBook Power 15 G8 (här i vårt test) finns det inga förändringar i höljet och inmatningsenheterna, så vi kommer att hålla de avsnitten korta här och istället fokusera på prestandasektionerna.

Väska och utrustning

Aluminiumhöljet är oförändrat jämfört med tidigare G8-modell. Kvaliteten är överlag bra, men stabiliteten når inte riktigt upp till de dyrare arbetsstationerna som ZBook Studio eller ZBook Fury. Dessutom vinglar skärmen något när man ändrar öppningsvinkeln. Visuellt ser ZBook Power 15 G9 blygsam och oansenlig ut med sin mörkare grå färg. Lådans botten är endast fastskruvad och kan lätt tas bort. Förutom arbetsminnet kan du även komma åt de två M.2 SSD-platserna, men WLAN-modulen är fastlödd.

När det gäller anslutningsutrustningen finns det fortsatt ett antal USB-A-portar samt USB-C med Thunderbolt 4, Ethernet och en HDMI-port. Däremot saknas det en kortläsare. WLAN-modulen har uppgraderats och AX211-kortet från Intel har nu även stöd för Wi-Fi 6E-standarden. Vi kan ansluta till 6 GHz-nätverket från vår referensrouter från Asus utan problem. Överföringshastigheterna som vi mäter är mycket höga och dessutom stabila. En LTE/5G-modul finns inte tillgänglig för ZBook Power.

Som webbkamera finns det fortsatt en 720p-sensor inklusive en IR-kamera för ansiktsigenkänning. Webbkameran gör sitt jobb, men bildkvaliteten är inte särskilt bra även i bra ljusförhållanden.

Inmatningsenheter - ZBook Power med ett bra tangentbord

Jämfört med ZBook Power 15 G8finns det inte heller några ändringar i inmatningsenheterna. Tangentbordet med bakgrundsbelysning ger en mycket bra skrivupplevelse, och det finns ett dedikerat nummerblock på höger sida. När det gäller layouten måste du vänja dig vid de något mindre piltangenterna och Power-knappen i den översta tangentraden. Fingeravtrycksläsaren är placerad till höger, under tangentbordet. I vårt test fungerar ClickPad tillförlitligt, men klickljudet är lite högt.

Vi har redan testat den vanliga Full HD-panelen med föregångarenoch vår nuvarande testkonfiguration av ZBook Power G9 är utrustad med den energisnåla 4K IPS-skärmen som tillval. Precis som i föregångaren har denna fortfarande 16:9-formatet (3 840 x 2 160 pixlar). Subjektivt sett ger LG-Philips-panelen en bra bildkvalitet, men ljust innehåll verkar något kornigt på den matta skärmytan. Dessutom är svarstiderna inte särskilt snabba, och vi ser också några tydliga spöklika effekter i praktiken, till exempel i muspekaren.

HP annonserar en ljusstyrka på 400 cd/m², och vår testenhet uppnår också detta i toppskiktet. Samtidigt är svartvärdet mycket lågt, 0,15, vilket leder till ett mycket bra kontrastförhållande på mer än 2 500:1. Vid full ljusstyrka och med en mörk bakgrund finns det några märkbara ljushalos. PWM används inte.

Vi mäter panelen med den professionella CalMAN-programvaran. Det finns en tydligt synlig röd nyans i leveranstillståndet, och färgtemperaturen är också för varm. Detta är beklagligt, eftersom vi kan förbättra skärmen avsevärt med vår egen kalibrering (färgprofil som kan laddas ner gratis från länken ovan), vilket leder till utmärkta resultat särskilt i gråskalan och helt och hållet gör sig av med färgtoningen. Färgavvikelserna jämfört med referensfärgrymden sRGB (som täcks helt och hållet) är också något lägre, vilket gör att endast 100 % blått kvarstår som en outlier. Den kalibrerade panelen är dock fortfarande lämplig för bildbehandling.

Display Response Times

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

In comparison: 53 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 19480 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 3846000) Hz was measured.

Testvillkor

HP erbjuder inga ytterligare alternativ för konfigurering av strömförsörjningen. Under testet kan vi observera några starkt varierande prestandavärden. Även om situationen förbättras något med några BIOS-uppdateringar är den fortfarande inte helt stabil. Med 105/75 watt är TDP-värdena i princip konfigurerade högt, men processorn kan bara använda upp till 90 watt som mest under en sekund en gång i tiden, innan den snabbt planar ut på cirka 55 watt. Ibland börjar processorn till och med med detta värde (med tidigare BIOS-versioner var det till och med mindre än 40 watt).

Processor

Core i7-12700Hkommer från Intels nuvarande Alder Lake-generation och kombinerar 6 snabba prestandakärnor med 8 effektivitetskärnor. Prestandan för enstaka kärnor är mycket bra och cirka 15-20 procent snabbare än föregångaren med Core i7-11800H. I de flerkärniga riktmärkena är prestandan dock en liten besvikelse med tanke på det stora höljet, där mycket potential förblir outnyttjad. Till exempel är denZBook Studio 16 G9med samma processor är cirka 20 % snabbare i flerkärniga tester. Vi försöker också höja TDP-värdena manuellt, men kylningen klarar inte av att hantera mer än 60-65 watt, eftersom CPU-temperaturerna då stiger till mer än 95 °C (203 °F).

Vid batteridrift är CPU:ns energiförbrukning begränsad till 30 watt. Detta har ingen inverkan på prestandan för enkärniga enheter, men resulterar i ett prestandaförlust på cirka 30 % i flerkärniga tester (9 926 poäng CB R23 Multi). Du kan hitta ytterligare CPU-benchmarks i vår tekniska sektion.

Nvidia RTX A2000 är den snabbaste grafikprocessorn som HP erbjuder för ZBook Power 15 G9. Detta är den uppdaterade versionen med 8 GB GDDR6-VRAM. GPU:n får dock bara förbruka högst 45 watt (inklusive 5 watt Dynamic Boost), vilket gör den till en av de långsammaste versionerna. I våra benchmarks hamnar GPU:n därför också under genomsnittet av de resultat som vi hittills mätt för RTX A2000. Spelprestandan är jämförbar med den för GeForce RTX 3050 Ti konsument-GPU, men tack vare de certifierade drivrutinerna kan prestandan i professionella applikationer också bli betydligt bättre.

Under konstant belastning förblir GPU-prestandan helt stabil. Precis som redan i processorn är grafikkortets strömförbrukning vid batteridrift också begränsad till 30 watt, vilket leder till en prestandaförlust på nästan 25 % (3 589 poäng Time Spy Graphics).
