In the following three years after purchasing, you can get your device serviced in less than 24 hours. Maybe they could have invested more in a better cooling?

Dell har släppt en ny version ur sin 3000-serie riktad åt kontor och företag och den lägger till ytterligare problem till seriens redan kända svagheter. Den senaste versionen har inte bara problem med skärmen, som vi hade ogillat om den så suttit i en budgetlaptop på 4.000 kronor, utan den har också andra problem på den tekniska sidan. Utöver detta har den dock riktigt bra batteritid.

On the other side, this laptop actually has something to brag about – the I/O. While it is free of Thunderbolt connectivity, there are plenty of useful connectors, like the RJ-45 one, a Type-C that can output a DisplayPort and an SD card reader. When this is combined with the PCIe x4 NVMe slot on the inside, the Latitude 3500 becomes a pretty strong machine.

So who is this laptop aimed at? Is it the business person that needs a secure laptop, or is it for companies, that are going to buy it in bulk? Well, we feel like it is the latter. And this is because of one thing in particular. While its simplistic design is visually appealing, the build quality is just not there. The base cracks and squeaks every time you twist it, which is definitely not a sign of attention to detail and structural rigidity. Dell Latitude 15 3520’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a good contrast ratio. Unfortunately, it covers only 53% of the sRGB color gamut, and it uses relatively low-frequency PWM up to 89 nits. Thankfully, the more sensitive users can take advantage of our Health-Guard profile, which completely eliminates the issue. Apart from that, there are some pretty sweet features like the wide I/O, which may not include a Thunderbolt 4 connection, but offers a USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 2×2). This provides a 20Gbps speed, which is twice as fast as the USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 2) port.

Dell:

Det här är mindre avancerade grafikkort för användare som ändå vill kunna spela spel. Nya spel bör vara spelbara, men ofta bara med låga detaljinställningar och låg upplösning. Eftersom moderna grafikkort i den här klassen har låg strömförbrukning kan även batteritiden vara bra.

AMD Radeon HD 8850M: En prestanda-GPU (2013) för bärbara datorer som bygger på samma krets som stationära Radeon HD 7750.

NVIDIA GeForce 830M: Ett grafikkort i mellanklassen från GeForce 800M-serien, dock baserat på Maxwellarkitekturen.

Intel UHD Graphics 620:

Integrerad GPU (GT2, 24 EU:s) som återfinns i en del Kaby-Lake-Refresh CPU-modeller (15 W ULV-serier). Tekniskt identisk med den tidigare generationens Kaby-Lake GPU kallad HD Graphics 620

Intel Iris Xe G7 80EUs:

Integrerat grafikkort i Intel Tiger Lake G7 SoCs som bygger på den nya Gen. 12-arkitekturen med 80 EUs (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). Klockfrekvensen beror på processormodellen. Tiger Lake-kretsarna tillverkas i den moderna 10nm+-processen hos Intel.

En del nyare spel kan spelas med de här grafikkorten, men bara om de är mindre krävande. De har ändå tillräcklig kapacitet för kontorsbruk och film (möjligen högupplöst). Är grafikkretsen dessutom integrerad kan batteritiden vara utmärkt.

Intel Kaby Lake Refresh:

Kaby Lake Refresh-baserad fyrkärnig lågenergi-processor. De fyra kärnorna har en klockfrekvens på mellan 1.6 och 3.4 GHz (Turbo Boost) och stödjer HyperThreading. Den inbyggda GPU:n har en klockfrekvens på mellan 300 och 1.100 MHz. Denna SoC tillverkas i en 14 nm+ FinFET-process.

Intel Comet Lake:

Comet Lake-baserad dualkärnad lågenergiprocessor (tekniskt sett identisk med Whiskey Lake och produceras fortfarande i 14nm++). CPU-kärnorna har en klockfrekvens på 2.1 till 4.1 GHz (alla fyra kärnorna kan max köras i 3.7 GHz samtidigt) med HyperThreading (4 trådar). Den inbyggda minneskontrollenheten har stöd för DDR4-2666 och med hjälp av cTDP up/down kan prestandan justeras av tillverkaren (10 - 25 Watt är möjligt, 15W är standard). Det integrerade grafikkortet har en klockfrekvens på 300 - 1000 MHz och har endast 23 istället för 24 CU:s.

Intel Tiger Lake:

i5-1135G7:

Tiger Lake-baserad fyrkärnig lågenergiprocessor för tunna och lätta bärbara datorer. Tillverkas i en förbättrad 10nm-process av Intel.

Intel Alder Lake-M:

i5-1235U:

En Alder-Lake-baserad mobilprocessor med 2 prestandakärnor och 8 effektiva kärnor. Prestandakärnorna har hyperthreading, vilket gör att 12 trådar kan bearbetas. Processorn körs vid frekvenser som sträcker sig från 0,9 till 4,4 GHz. TDP är specificerad till 15 watt.
