Hölje - Gigabyte använder en blandning av material

Endast baksidan av locket är tillverkad av mattsvart metall - basenheten är tillverkad av plast. Gigabyte har inte lagt till några tjusiga visuella utsmyckningar bortsett från mönstret som är etsat i den släta höljeytan. En LED-remsa (RGB, anpassningsbar) på baksidan av basenheten och de upplysta tangenterna (RGB) ger enheten en färgklick.

Fodralet är satt ihop felfritt - det finns inga överskott av material och gapmåtten är alla korrekta. Basenheten kan endast vridas något, locket mer. Men allt detta håller sig inom ett normalt intervall. Batteriet (fastskruvat - inte limmat) och resten av den bärbara datorns inre kan nås när bottenskalet avlägsnas. Gångjärnen håller locket stadigt på plats och den maximala öppningsvinkeln är cirka 130 grader. Det är möjligt att öppna locket med en hand.

15X kan placeras i mitten av alla bärbara 15,6-tumsdatorer: Den är varken kompakt eller särskilt massiv. Samma sak kan sägas om dess vikt.

Anslutningsmöjligheter - Aorus-datorn har Thunderbolt 4

15X har två USB-A-portar (USB 3.2 Gen 2) och en USB-C-port (Thunderbolt 4). Den sistnämnda har stöd för Power Delivery och kan ge ut en DisplayPort-signal. Detta tillsammans med HDMI-porten (2.1) och den dedikerade Mini DisplayPort (1.4) ger tre videoutgångar. Datorn har ingen SD-kortläsare.

De två dedikerade videoutgångarna, liksom Ethernetporten, finns på baksidan av enheten. Detta innebär att kablarna inte kommer att vara i vägen när du använder den bärbara datorn.

Kommunikation

Under optimala förhållanden (inga ytterligare WLAN-enheter i närheten, litet avstånd mellan den bärbara datorn och serverdatorn) är den bärbara datorns WLAN-överföringshastigheter bra, men de ligger något under genomsnittet med tanke på vad som är möjligt med detta WLAN-chip (Intel AX211; Wi-Fi 6E). Underhåll

När alla skruvar har avlägsnats från enhetens botten kan bottenskalet avlägsnas med hjälp av en platt spatel eller palettkniv. Därefter kan man komma åt RAM-platserna (båda används), SSD (PCIe 4), den andra M.2 2280-platsen (PCIe 4), BIOS-batteriet, WLAN-modulen, fläktarna, högtalarna och batteriet.

Inmatningsenheter - en bärbar dator för spel med individuellt belysta tangenter

Tangentbord

Chiclet-tangentbordets mjuka tangenter har ett medelhögt lyft och en tydlig tryckpunkt. Varje tangent är individuellt belyst (tre ljusstyrkor). Negativt: Tangenternas sekundära funktioner fångar inte upp något av ljuset, vilket innebär att de knappt är läsbara. När du skriver har tangenterna bara en liten mängd eftergift - men det borde inte vara alltför irriterande. På det hela taget har Gigabyte försett den här enheten med ett bra vardagstangentbord.

Pekplatta

En multitouch-klickplatta (ungefär 12,1 x 7,6 cm) ersätter musen på den här datorn - den släta ytan är lätt att använda. Hörnen reagerar på inmatningar, har en liten eftergivlighet och har en tydlig tryckpunkt.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Provningsförhållanden

Datorns kontrollcenter (Gigabyte Control Center) har alla vanliga prestandalägen (se tabell) och en överlägsen AI boost-funktion som vi använde. Detta innebar att kontrollcentret valde den bäst passande profilen - "gaming mode" och "creator mode" för benchmarks och "energy-saving idle mode" för batteritesterna.

"Turbo mode" kan i vissa fall ge något förbättrad prestanda - men det har ett pris: Fläktarna arbetar ständigt på full effekt. Du kan uppnå de tystaste arbetsnivåerna - nära till helt tyst - med hjälp av "mötesläge". Här krymper prestandan för en tråd, som är viktigare för daglig användning, i mindre utsträckning än prestandan för flera trådar. Till och med spelande skulle vara möjligt med reducerade inställningar.

DessCore-i7-13700HX processorn (Raptor Lake) består av 8 effektivitetskärnor (ingen hypertrådning, 1,5-3,7 GHz) och 8 prestandakärnor (hypertrådning, 2,1-5 GHz). Totalt uppgår detta till 24 logistiska CPU-kärnor. Benchmarks ger resultat i nivå med CPU:ns fastställda genomsnitt.

CPU-testerna i riktmärket Cinebench R15 kördes med hög (flertrådig) eller hög till maximal (enkeltrådig) klockfrekvens medan de var anslutna till elnätet. Vid användning av batteriet sjönk dessa hastigheter - betydligt mer under single-thread-belastning än multi-thread-belastning.

CB15-slingtestet visade följande: CPU-turbon utnyttjades och kontinuerlig belastning med flera trådar fick klockfrekvenserna att sjunka något från den första till den tredje körningen.

Spelprestanda vid reducerad volym

I viss mån kan 15X uppfylla önskemålen hos användare som inte vill ha en alltför högljudd bärbar dator för spel. Energiprofilen "mötesläge" garanterar en totalt sett lägre driftvolym med minskad processorkraft. Den senare är fortfarande tillräcklig för spel vid medelhöga till delvis höga inställningar. The Witcher 3 testet genomfördes vid en genomsnittlig bildfrekvens på 69 FPS med en GPU TGP på cirka 67 watt.

Utsläpp - Aorus ASF kan köras tyst

Bullerutsläpp

De två fläktarna arbetar vanligtvis med låg hastighet utan belastning och vid daglig användning (kontor, Internet). Det är dock inte omöjligt att de går på högvarv - nivåer på upp till 38 dB(A) är möjliga. Under belastning blev det mycket högt med maximala värden på 58 dB(A) (stresstest) och 54 dB(A) (Witcher 3 test).

Aorus 15X klarar av tyst till praktiskt taget tyst drift. Detta kräver att energiprofilerna "mötesläge" eller "energisparande tomgångsläge" används. Datorns därefter minskade prestanda är fortfarande mer än tillräckligt för daglig användning och tillåter även spel med reducerade inställningar.

Med Gigabytes kontrollcenter kan du styra fläkten. Olika fläktprofiler finns tillgängliga och en individuell fläktkurva kan också skapas.

Stresstest

Stresstestet (Prime95 och Furmark i kontinuerlig användning) simulerar ett extremt scenario för att kontrollera hur stabilt systemet är under maximal belastning.

Processorn (P: 2,7-2,8 GHz, E: 2,1-2,2 GHz) började testet med medelhög klockfrekvens. Efter en kort tid sjönk klockfrekvenserna till cirka 2-2,5 GHz (P-kärnor) och 1,8-1,9 GHz (E-kärnor). GPU-klockfrekvensen sjönk från 2,4 GHz till 2,1 GHz.

Körtider

Den 15,6-tums enheten uppnådde körtider på 8:09 timmar respektive 7:52 timmar i WLAN-testet (uppringning av webbplatser via ett skript) och videotestet (kortfilmen Big Buck Bunny (H.264-kodning, FHD) i en slinga). Under båda testerna var den bärbara datorns energisparfunktioner inaktiverade och skärmens ljusstyrka var inställd på cirka 150 cd/m². De trådlösa modulerna var också inaktiverade för videotestet.

Aorus 15 levererade bra batteritider överlag - inte bara för en bärbar dator för spel. Med tanke på den enorma batterikapaciteten (99 Wh) är dessa värden inte förvånande. Trots detta ligger Gigabytes bärbara dator också före när det gäller watttimmar.

Aorus 15X är utformad för QHD-spel med höga till maximala inställningar, men den presterar också bra på andra krävande områden som videoredigering och rendering. TheCore i7-13700HX ochGeForce RTX 4070 laptop ger den nödvändiga processorkraften. En supersnabb PCIe-4-SSD (1 TB) garanterar korta laddningstider.

Kraftfull, uthållig, tyst när det behövs - Aorus 15X ASF kan uppfylla många av de krav som ställs på en modern bärbar dator för spel.

Processorn och grafikprocessorn arbetar med konstant höga klockfrekvenser. Buller- och värmeutvecklingen ligger på den vanliga höga nivån. Tyst till helt tyst drift är dock möjlig - med betydligt minskad processorkraft. Detta skulle ändå uppfylla användarnas krav för daglig användning och möjliggöra spelande vid reducerade inställningar.

Den matta QHD-skärmen (15,6 tum, IPS, 240 Hz) behöver inte kritiseras. En Thunderbolt 4-port öppnar upp för expansionsmöjligheter (dockningslösning, extern GPU). Den kan också användas för att driva den bärbara datorn via en USB-C-strömadapter (minst 65 watt) - Power Delivery stöds. Batteritider på cirka 8 timmar avrundar det totala paketet.

TheRazer Blade 15 OLED kan visa sig vara ett bra alternativ till den här enheten. Den erbjuder mindre processorkraft än den bärbara datorn från Aorus, men får extra poäng med sina mer kompakta dimensioner, lägre vikt och en OLED-skärm med hög kontrast och äkta färger.
