Medan Intel länge har varit en föregångare när det gäller att leverera minimala förbättringar mellan generationerna, verkar AMD gradvis följa efter. Ett bra exempel är Ryzen AI 7 450 som finns i Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 14som vi nyligen granskade. I de flesta scenarier är både dess CPU- och GPU-prestanda knappt bättre än hos föregångaren Ryzen AI 7 350. Den gav till och med sämre resultat i vissa tester, även om några procentenheter rimligen kan hänföras till felmarginalen i våra mätningar.

Ändå förväntar sig många konsumenter - särskilt de som är mindre tekniskt kunniga - mer av en förmodad ny produktgeneration. När det gäller Ryzen AI 7 450 är denna stagnation knappast förvånande när man tittar på dess specifikationer. Den har fortfarande åtta Zen 5-kärnor, med klockhastigheter som bara har ökat med 100 MHz. RAM-stödet har också förbättrats marginellt (nu upp till LPDDR5-8533), även om detta sällan märks i den dagliga användningen
