Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Det finns fortfarande en del saker med HTC U11 Life som får denna telefon att stå ut bland jämförelse-enheterna. Åter och åter igen måste vi påpeka HTC:s uppfinningsrikedom och tydliga vilja till innovation, vars faktiska resultat nu också introducerats i en mittenskikts-enhet med USonic och Edge Sense. Tack vare Android One-filosofin så garanteras man uppdateringar fär flera år, vilket ger en bra känsla särskilt i dessa tider med säkerhetshål som upptäcks veckovis. Man förväntar sig antagligen inte dom utmärkta hörlurarna som ingår i paketet hos en enhet för ~3 500 SEK. Men man förväntar sig heller inte en högtalare som låter så burkig i det prisskiktet, särskilt inte från HTC.

På många andra områden är HTC U11 Lifes prestanda gedigen: en bra batteritid, en hyfsad skärm och lämplig prestanda för en mittenskikts-enhet. Höljet är tjusigt men ganska genomsnittligt i fråga om kvalitet och utöver dom nya möjligheterna att kontrollera den så skapar Edge Sense också en del nya problem, såsom oavsiktlig aktivering. Kameran levererar också bra prestanda, men står inte ut jämfört med andra smartphones.

Garanterade, regelbundan säkerhetsuppdateringar - detta är ett starkt argument för HTC U11 Life. At ett par utmärkta hörlurar ingår och bra batteritid är fler argument. Men det finns också baksidor med en dålig högtalare, avsaknaden av en ljudport och inte särskilt exakt navigering.

Allt som allt, HTC U11 Life är en enhet som man borde prova att hålla i sin hand. Some köpare måste man fråga sig: hur mycket gillar jag höljet, hur bra kan jag hantera Edge Sense och kan jag leva med en medioker högtalare? Är det okej för mig att det inte finns en dedikerad ljudutgång? Att använda telefonen för navigering får heller inte vara viktigt för dig. Trots alla dessa orosmoment så kan HTC U11 Life eventuellt övertyga om du provar den, särskilt om regelbundna säkerhetsuppdateringar är viktigt för dig.
